    Ok guys I'm going to order a pair of the MS racing shoes while their cheap.For $10 extra i can get the nomex one'sI'll probably never need them to be nomex plus the non-nomex one's stick out less.Not sure I'd go anywhere with big red flames on my shoes.I know karting doesn't require nomex.Any reason that they would be the better choice?

    I bought the non-nomex because I don't race, and I couldn't live with the color options on the nomex shoes. If the colors had been the same, I would've bought the nomex, but red flames don't do it for me.

    I wonder if you need nomex for track day type of events?I'm leaning heavily towards the black non-nomex one's.

    For only $10 extra I'd go for the nomex. You never know when you might be thankful.

    I love my Fila Red flamed Nomex! They totally match my red and black Ferrari shorts.

    They do attract attention!

    Decided to go with the non-nomex based on looks.If for some reason i ever need nomex i can always buy a pair.Thanks guys.

    Or, you can just wear nomex socks.

    I was wondering if that would be ok.I guess it depends on where your at.Currently I can't imagine a instance where i would need them.I'm thinking about doing that Mazda rev it up so that might give me a chance to look like a idot wearing flame covered shoes.:)

    Nomex shoes without a Nomex suit... kind of pointless if you ask me.

    Most HPDE and DE events don't require Nomex anything... they even allow DOT M helmets. Only stricter schools require a SA helmet.

    I personally recommend a SA helmet... but we're talking about shoes. The non-Nomex shoes will probably do just fine for you and you get two bonuses- wider selection of colors and $10 cheaper.
