Stradale Brake Issue

    After 1500 miles,including a few track sessions the brake warning light would come on with every depression of the pedal. After removing the wheels and pads by the dealer there was only slight wear on the pads (4mm) but the imbedded sensors were worn. Turns out the sensors are too thick for the pads and with little wear are exposed, sending the message to the warning light. New sensors are being shipped from Italy. Look for this with all the Stradales.

    ROTFL. all that engineering work to get the brakes right and someone forgets to engineer the error sensor. very amusing.

    Don’t get it completely – there are two warning signals:

    One is the Brake Service message in the multi-function display with indicates that the brakes have reached their wear limit – this is calculated and can be reset during brake maintenance

    The other is the Brake Failure light - ((!)) – which indicates multiple brake related errors one of which is excessive wear of pads

    I assume you are referring to the Brake Failure warning light but what I can’t figure out is how the sensors can be replaced – usually there are electrical contacts baked into the pad which get exposed when the wear limit is reached – how can they be exposed

    Do you have more information how this works?
