Allan, do you know what the actual curb weight is for the Murcie? The reason I say "actual" is because i've seen curb weights published ranging from 3600ish to low 4000ish. It'd be interesting to compare the Murcie weight to the Gallardo if there is an accurate # out there.
allan, i'm not sure i buy those numbers. kind of reminds me when the sl55 first came out. crazy fast numbers. when the actual production cars started to come out NOBODY could duplicate those crazy fast 0-100 times etc. i just can't believe the car is so fast. weight/hp times don't make sense.....do they? at least not compared to a murci or f50
Good point about the HP/weight issue. Sounds like Lambo may have sent a "ringer" for testing. Wouldn't be the first time that a manufacturer did that.
Try against all odds to get drawn into these threads, but I was drawn to the Silver Color remark also. I think the Gallardo looks awesome in traditional Lambo colors (eg Orange, and other cool 70s kitch colors) - I think it looks awful in Silver. For me it doesn't work like the Murci does. I think the new Audi Le Mans is a more interesting looking car on this chassis.
Allan, Would you rather have the E-Gear or the Standard Manual. EVO Magazine actually preferred the E-Gear. Allan by the way the last Lambo do have a really nice interior was the 6.0 Diablo's. The Murci's and Gallardos are a little to conservative and dark compared to the last Diablos.
The Gallardo weighs substantially less than the Murcielago, and according to Valentino Balboni, is right with the Murcielago to 150mph, then starts to lose ground. The numbers here would support those claims. I dont have an exact weight on the Murci, as i havent had a chance to get one on 4 point scales yet.
Yes i agree, the 6.0 Interior is awesome. But you cant pull all your eggs out immediately and throw them out in the basket. Otherwise where do you go? Have to hold something back for the future. One thing is for certain, Lamborghini will make sure to distance the performance of the Murcielago and Gallardo in the future. With the awesome performance of the Gallardo, the revised Murcielago, will be incredible. I prefer the 6 speed, although if i can convince my wife to trade the 355 for the Gallardo, i may try it in the E-gear.
Allan, just have your wife wait for the Gallardo Spyder to come out. I hear also next year the Rear Boot will have optional glass like the Modena. Didn't know if you heard that, I read it in Autocar.
