I am in need of some fuel injectors for a 85QV motor. Any suggestions on past experience as to where to buy them? I was told they are a Mercedes part number as well. Thanks
    David

    Hi David,

Importec.com sells for $29 each. Good experience, rapid shipping. Note these are the "updated" brass ones, not the original metal.

    :) Carl

    Hey guys,

As you know I'm having a major service done on my new 328 when it gets here. Does it makes sense to replace the injectors, at all of $240 in parts total? How intensive of a job is it? Preventative maintenance, or do you do this when you have a problem?

If the car is a "keeper", you may wish to go ahead a do this. I replaced mine in an attempt to correct a hot start issue. When the old ones were removed and tested, two were leaking, and two more were spraying in a straight pencil rather than cone pattern. I did notice the car was more responsive at over 4,000 rpm...maybe it was just my imagination, but it seemed much better responding at higher revs.

The labor to test them alone or to have refurbished is really not worth it, but if you are having a major anyway...what's another $250 to eliminate a possible problem in the future and have brand new, updated injectors (I don't think it was more than one hour to replace them. BTW, don't forget the rubber o-rings...just order the same black rubber ones used on a 78 Rabbit (about 20 cents each or so).

Carl, do you have the part number by chance? I went to the site, but couldn't find a listing by application for Ferrari. I want to call them right away and order these. Thanks for all of your help.

david s. -- Just do a parts search at the importec site using the Bosch PN 0437502047 that Steve R. gave -- but the part will be the exact same one as that from fuelparts (I too was surprised that the importec price had gone up somewhat significantly). Another option is HDRogers (or something like that), but time is $ ;). Do a search here and at the old site using that same Bosch PN -- you should get a lot of useful background and supplier information (like identifying the different injector mounting arrangements that were/are used on F posted by Ric Rainbolt IIRC).

Mike, if your car still has the original (steel) injectors, yes it really makes sense. I replaced mine last year, and did noticed the difference. Buy the new injectors from www.autohausaz.com, and also get new "O" rings (the green ones).

+1 on the GREEN "O" Rings , they are slightly harder to install but make a really tight seal that will last.
