Well, it looks like after doing this since 1981 I am going to take my exit...... I have had a wonderful time. Started in 1981 at a Pontiac, Datsun, Chrysler dealer (Used car manager). MOved in 1983 to Odessa Nissan/BMW (Sales and trainer), Broncho BMW in 1986( sales, sales manager, GSM, GM). During my time there I was also BMW North American Product Knowledge champion and runner-up three times. Moved to Moritz BMW in 1994 (sales-got out of management on purpose). Made the switch to Ferrari of Dallas in September of 2000 as sales and management.

Enjoyed that tremendously. Got to meet a whole bunch of really great people and experience the whole gamut of Ferrari/Maserati. Risi Comp, Steve Earle, the whole Challenge series, the intro of the 360GT cars that Risi races and the intro of the Enzo and the opening of the new FoD dealership building. Through a slight disagreement with Maserati (to say the least) I am now with Baillargeon Audi in D/FW and have been since May of 2003. Economics have made this decision for me and it is time to move on.....Sadly.. I will miss the car business.

I will be moving into management in an industry I was with before I started in the car business that I did for 16 years.---No, not my factory MX ride for Kawasaki (I could only dream I could still do that, physically or mentally). I will let you know what and where after I complete the move. I will be here for a few more days. I will keep up with F/C, I just will not be able to keep quite as abreast of developments in the automotive field as I do now. Oh boy, do I hope I am doing the right thing............................

Actually I am still working on that. It is taking longer than I expected. This is something I will do until it is time to take the "BIG STEP" if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the support. I will let you know.

BTW, I still have something to ask you about that 1099 I received. I will contact you personally.

The retail automotive business in this state just lost one of its TRUE professionals, the ranks are lesser with your departure.

I am sure what ever the position is you will bring that professionalism to the job.

    Tiger Ace,

I am planning on staying in the D/FW area so I am going to be available. I will help you locate someone to help with the Pikes Peak. I can certainly help in telling you who not to go to. I may even be able to work on appointment basis as a private consultant here also. That would work. I will let you know.

Wow, that is some news James, I want to say thanks for getting me that Gumball Rally video & the abuse that you endured with my shifting skills with the 2004 S4. Whatever you plans are, I’m sure you will go far & succeed. Keep in touch.

Wasn't abuse. We got the opportunity to drive one.......no abuse there. And every car has its own particular idiosyncrisies in the way it shifts and we just have to adapt. You've had plenty of seat time behind the wheel of some pretty decent cars so I am sure just about 5 minutes more and it would have been "pro" time.

I will let everyone know what I will be doing. I will be here through this week. Maybe a day or two next week and then its off to re-begin a career I started in 1965. Wowwwww---that is a long time ago--ancient I am............
