WIR cheques have a function as means of payment, which are accepted by quite a lot of business partners and private persons in Switzerland (mostly in rural areas). i would not recommend to do WIR business.
What kind of reputation do they have? I heard they can be used to facilitate realestate transactions? PD
any mean of payment is useful to facilitate business transactions WIR partners form some kind of a community. if you belong to it, then the reputation is good (of course). as an outsider i would stay away, as i mentioned already. once you have WIR cheques, it may become difficult to get rid of them and you are caught in this WIR circle.
