    So as I understand it, the backend of vB is infinetly more robust than discus. Well, wouldn't it be possible to create the exact same front end using the new software?

    It would, but that would take much much more work then needed and take a lot of time. On paper it seems simple enough however just altering the templetes and things, but we all know reality never works right.
