$1.939 here in Indiana at Shell for 93 octane. I've been told that Shell has a new fuel mixture coming out soon.

in LA 100 is hard to find and over $6. is it worth it for the street? otherwise 91 is the highest here-- no 92-94. is 100 a noticeable difference?

Write your congressman and tell him to support developing the artic oil reserve in Alaska that then pres bill clinton set aside and we in the states could have cheap gas for another 10 years.

I paid 2.39 @ gallon at costco for 92 the other day. I wish it was cheaper like most people. However, I feel lucky that the enviros havnt banned my gas gussler yet! Dollar for dollar my 308 is still a very economical form of great entertainment.

I pay 1.5$ for 1 liter 95 Octane. So I think I can take him the record for most expensive fuel.

I'm surprised at all the angry posts. Isn't this a place where most folks hate SUVs? The way they clog the roads, obliterate smaller cars in crashes, handle and stop like water barges (thus causing more said crashes), block your view, tip over, hog parking spaces, and yes, guzzle gas (more CO2 emission, more dependance on OPEC)?

Why do SUVs/Trucks account for 50% of all US vehicle sales? The main reason is cheap gas.

While I feel for those whose livelihood is hurt, I also see the good side of higher gas prices, namely that it might cut back the plague that is the SUV infestation on our highways.

And those of us who drive mega-$$$ gas-guzzler sports cars, we DESERVE to pay more of a " worldwide going rate" for the indulgence!

Bring on $3, is what I say.

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?
This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
    Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 .......... $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ...........$9.52 per gallon
    Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .......... $10.17 per gallon
    Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 .......... $10.00 per gallon
    Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 .......... $33.60 per gallon
    Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .......... $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ...........$123.20 per gallon
    Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ........ . $25.42 per gallon
    Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ...........$84.48 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER...
Evian water 9 oz $1.49...........$21.19 per gallon?! $21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source.
So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid Pepto Bismal or Nyquil.
Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

We pay almost 7$ per gallon for 100 octane.

I would be willing to pay 15$ if it meant that the streets would be less crowded. And ideally higher gas taxation should translate into a lower income tax :)

Its time to accept that high and increasing demand from emerging economies combined with a finite supply of an increasingly scarce resource will mean long term high gas prices.

    Get used to it.

And I hope the US government doesn't increase tax on fuel to pay off the budget deficit like the UK government do!

In Italy the prices are similar 1 liter = 1,182€ (ESSO 95 octanes on self service)

To the change with the value of the US$ today 1 gallon costs 5,32 USS.
