    Pencil eraser works

I've heard peanut butter works, but havent tried. Don't laugh, many posts about this on BMW boards and they say it works.

What type of plastic trim is it? Is it a smooth finish or a course finish. Your best option is to use some peanut oil on it. Put some peanut oil in a rag and go over the entire plastic piece. If the material is course, use an old toothbrush to scrub the oil in on the effected areas. Let is sit for about two moinutes and then buff off with a clean rag. This should remove all wax residue and give the plastic a nice healthy shine. Good luck.

I know exactly what you are talking about. The peanut oil works very well on the plastic lower rear fascia on all the 996tt I have detailed. The plastic in front of the lower windshield should come clean wiht just a plastic cleaner from all my experience. The peanut oil will work on that though too. Please let us know how you make out.

I have also heard the peanut butter works. I have not tried it, but I know a lot of people that swear by it. They say that peanut butter is the only stuff that actually takes the wax off, all the other products just hide it for a few weeks.

I am not saying it is true, this is just what I hear.

i'll be damned - peanut butter really does work! not only does it work, you hardly have to rub. i just got an old towel and dabbed a little in the PB (creamy reduced fat JIF, btw) and gently rubbed on the plastic then went over the spot with a wet towel.

thanks again for the suggestion. now who figured that out is what i want to know...
