    I intend to remove and replace my suspensions shock-spring-bushing in the next months. Any recommendations on where to buy, what to be carefull of during the work, and any potential upgrades (although I try to keep the car as original as possible).

    If you are doing shocks and want to stay original,
    Then tirerack.com has stock new Koni shocks priced about the same as it would cost to rebuild and refinish your old ones.
    If you are doing shocks, you might as well replace your suspension bushings while you have your A arms out.
    They will be as worn as the shock bushings.

    Agreed, but tirerack doesn't sell bushings. Who seel at reasonable price OEM replacement bushings?

    I went polly on my bushings, but you can pickup OEM from any FNA dealer, or check with the fine sponsors of this site.

    I have also seen some pulyurethane bushings for sale at nickforza.com. Any details on this material for bushings? Any comments on what to expect for price?

    Here are the bushings I used...
    The G means that they are graphite impregnated so they wont squeak when its cold out.
    I had Norwoods ship them to me...

    Bushings can be knocked out with a mallet,
    or pressed out with a press.

    But you will need to grind off the old weld first.

    Cheap air grinder...

    What started out as a suspension rebuild project
    has turned into a complete front end restoration.
    And I was planing on posting the article in the parts and service section, with Rob's permission of course...
    Including documentation of proper tools you would need in order to complete each phase of the operation,
    replacement part numbers, paints used, hose type and sizes,
    so on...
    So look for that in the future.

    Same here, started restoring the front end frame due to minor rusting in frame crossmembers, replaced OEM cooling fans with Haydens, sandblasting all A-arms, used POR-15 on the frame and sway bar, I love that stuff! Then spraying undercoating over the POR-15(2 coats) so I won't have to mess around with rust ever again on the front. Front shocks were completely wasted and the coil springs were bent badly, looked like a crescent moon shape. Went with superformance 20% uprated coils.

    As far as shocks and springs go, I decided to go aftermarket.
    I went with an inexpensive model shock from QA1 Motorsport,
    and springs from Eibach.

    The other great thing about going to this style shock is the weight savings.
    This shock spring combo total, weighs just under 26 lbs less than the stock shock spring combo total.
    Thats like bonus horse power!
