If anyone contacts the seller about this car, post what you find. I know that this car was listed on the DupontRegistry site back in August so it has been out there for awhile. I think the guy wanted about $145K when it was listed there so either he is desparate or else there is something fishy about the car - which may explain why it hasn't moved.

Thats really cheap for a "NEVER ACCIDENTED" 550! Wow, that could be a good deal...for the guy whos running the scam that is. Seriously though, it could be a good deal, the guy just knows that people will bid on it. People often have auctions with no reserve at all, yes- even for ferraris. This really isnt any different than a no-reserve auction.

Could just be a no reserve that he has his buddies bid up to market price at the end and I definately wouldn't buy a car on ebay but would contact seller to see if an offline deal could be made. Easy to flush out if his reserve was 100k than theoretically he should entertain offers offline of the same unless he has no intentions of taking that low of an offer. Stranger things have happened.

I think I see a frown on the 550. Sad.

  16. I would never buy without driving or seeing the car in person I would inside out and underneath the car. But thats just me cause everyone is tryig to scam everyone now. The car looks good though nice color combo.

    Can the 550 do 0-60 in 4.1 I though the 575 does it in 4.2 ?

Have you had a look at the sellers feedback?? it looks like the seller is dealing in sub $10 items and now is selling a $100k car???? Ofcourse this seller really has a 550, but is it a 1.1 scale??

That's my guess. The cycling "forums" on ebay have been flooded with account hijackers. 8 feedback going back to 2001 and pretty much inactive for over a year? Smell a scam.

Must have been a scam, even though the VIN checked out. The auction has been canceled by Ebay.

Agree that it is probably a scam but I sold a restored vintage Corvette on Ebay this summer for $62K. I had never used Ebay in my life before but thought it was a good forum to sell cars. I did have two sellers back out after the auction without ever seeing the car. It finally sold sight unseen to a guy in Texas who is a collector. When he received the car he called to tell me that is was much better than he expected and the nicest restored Vette he had ever seen. The moral of the story is that not all deals on Ebay are scams!
