How's this for an impromptu concours. Last Friday I was driving on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and found a parking space in front of a Red 308 with shields - so I parked my red 550 with shields in it. About 5 minutes later a red Barchetta with shields pulled into a space that opened up behind the red 308. A few minutes later another red 550 with shields pulled into a new vacated spot behind the red Barchetta. Four red Ferraris with shields in row, and as far as I know - none of the drivers knew each other. As I was standing there a red 360 with shields drove by - but there was nowhere to park. Moments later a silver 550 (no shields) drove by. Only in LA - six random Ferraris on the same block. Sorry about the quality of the lousy cell phone camera picture.
Thx, oh see I was not there on Friday, I was on my couch drooling and numb from a turkey OD. All the hot girls work at the Sunset Plaza od Robertson stores. Oh baby Siobahn was my favorite Hermes, when they opened up a store, the street out front all down one side was all Ferraris. Rodeo can be so crass.
If you think Beverly Hills is the only place that can happen, you arre dead wrong my man - Monte Carlo is WORSE than Beverly Hills at that stuff, if it was in Monaco, those four ferrari's would still be there, but they would be F50, Enzo, Enzo and Enzo
Monte Carlo is definitely worse. I miss SoCal. Only place I've ever seen three Diablos parked on the same street out of pure coincidence. If you count the one my friend and I were on that would be four, but we never found parking. Love how they have Japanese salesladies trying to lure me in their stores when I walk by with my wife. Hahaha! Cheers
London can be pretty good too for cars parked on the street. I saw 2 different F50s just parked on the street with nobody around. People must be very trustworthy - I'm in the tristate area and I don't think I would leave any Ferrari unattended.
I agree. I live in central London and regularly see Bentleys, 360s, 550s, 456s, Rolls, Sl55s etc but i haven't seen an F50/F40/Enzo yet I have seen an F40 in England coming into my village of about pop-600! Rico
Had a day like that over the summer. On the way to the post office, I saw 2 Ferraris (360 and 308) going the other direction. Then, when I got to the post office, I parked my 360 next to another 360. Finished my business there and found the other 360 owner checking out my car. We had a good chat and had a good laugh about Ferraris getting too common place around here.
Sort of reminds me of Malaga in southern Spain. I was having lunch at an outdoor cafe right beside the main road that parallels the docks......multi-million dollar yachts......surrounded by a row of Ferrari's, RR's, Astons, MB's...etc....etc.....for as far as the eye could see. All on a regular weekday lunch break. There must have been 10 Ferrari's among the row of 50 cars.
I am a hardcore european F-spotter. Been to London, Paris, Munich, Marbella... not yet to Montecarlo, though. I must say that in any of these places it is pretty easy to spot many different Ferraris parked or driving by in a lapse of a couple of hours. As I said, I've never been to Monaco yet but I've seen lots of F-pics there and heard lots of F-reports. Yes, there's always a bunch of Ferraris parked in the casino, luckily you can find some F50's, F40's... Not to mention F1 GP weekends which are real crazy, something from another (red) world However, Mike, I think that your picture of four-in-a-row red Ferraris is unique! Mostly because it was totally by coincidence, as you explained. I challenge you all to post a picture showing such amount of Ferrari density (by coincidence) anywhere in the world!!! Even I, who have hundreds of ferrari shots all over the world, cannot recall having seen three Ferraris in a row... will check out anyway! @Rico: I once decided that, within the UK, you can spot a Ferrari anytime, anywhere. You shouldn't say "I bet you 50 euros we won't see a Ferrari right here, right now" if you're in the UK. Believe me, I've spotted Ferraris in the strangest places & times when I lived there.
Garreto, I'm also a hardcore spotter, and Monaco IS worse than California. The last time I were there, and it was out of season, I saw at least 60 Ferrari's.
And to think it all started with a 308. How fitting. Four of a kind all the same suit. looks like a winning hand to me.
I believe you Jonas. Congratulations on that Three-In-A-Row. Still not matching Beverly Hills' 4-in-a-row, though! I've always heard incredible reports from Monaco. I hope to go there soon. However I keep special memories from Beverly Hills, where I saw my first F40 in traffic (1st of 4 until today) back in 1991. I really couldn't believe my eyes, I even thought it had to be a replica, couldn't believe I was seeing a real F40!!! It was, of course, in Rodeo Drive.
