Anyone see it? I thought it was hilarious. My first question though is this; Do alot of people actually live like that (In CA, not on the farm(|)!?! Damn, ive never seen someone (except for in that Eddie Murphy movie from the '80's, i think it was Brewsters Millions or something like thgat) throw $ around like that as she did in that shopping spree. With all that money you'd think she 'd be driving something nicer than a 40k boxster.
I cant wait to see the next episode when she hooks up with a redneck and also has to do some work.

Yeah that show was hilarious in a akward way. I assume people with that kind of money can spend large amounts like it's pocket change. And damn does Paris have a tight body.Yeah guess I'll be watching this and the oc tomorrow night.

Paris has her own line that her servants market around the globe. Japan is BIG into Paris products, we are talking bigger than Poke'mon and Hello Kitty.

Her line alone takes in gross rev around $xx million. That's just by herself. That doesn't include modeling shoots, onscreen productions and other odds and ends she takes in.

She will wear a Oh'couture collection ONCE, then never wear it again and that goes for most everything she wears.

I don't understand it either. It's not business saavy. It would drive an accountant bonkers trying to keep up with her reciepts. I guess that's why she has a TEAM of accountants to track the millions she wastes in attire deficits. But hey.. it's not my problem.

When old man Hilton kicks, her and her sister inherit the empire he built which as some of you may know the exact figure, but it somewhere around 53 Billion.

53 BILLION?! I'd never spend a 10th of that even if i tried my hardest. Some people are just brought up differently i guess. I know if my family wee to come into that kind of money, my parents probably wouldnt live any differe. Me on the other hand... i'd probably get killed in my new F40.

aawil- that show is on every night?! Awesome. I guess i know what i'm doing tomorrow night. youre right though, shes hot and she knows hot to show it off. Did anyone notice tonight when her jeans were too low and they had to blur out her ass?

Cant wait to see the show tonight. I was in the store with my wife in Beverly Hills when they filmed the scene with her wearing the Army style jacket and miniskirt, with her friend and the dog. She is definately hot! Maybe i'll be on TV!

If I am not mistaken, Paris and Nikki have two other siblings? Crap I really should pay more attention at the Polo Lounge.

Paris is a notorious Versace freak, Donatella took Gianni's line and made it porn-chic, maybe that is why Paris has a thing for haute couture and less Atelier Versace. If you thought the Abercrombie campaign was tacky, walk into Versace. The best thing to ever happen, business wise, was a .40 caliber bullet and a bunch of trashy socialites. When you have taste I will be waiting at Badgley Mischka or Herve Leger girls...

Nikki and Paris have a line of handbags, yes they are huge for being themselves in Japan, yes they stand to inherit more money than most of us can stomach, and no, being born into money does not equal class, but you can buy off lots of people with daddy's money.

All I caught was a snippet something about the guy being cute and they should give him something, and one of them suggested a three-way.

    End of story.

I didn't see the show yesterday b/c I went to bed early. I wanted to see if she was working on the farm dressed in expensive clothes. I was told a while back, while it was being filmed, that the producers of the show sent her to change when she showed up on a farm to work wearing "work type clothes". I've heard they wanted her to be wearing couture while working with cows.

That part was hilarious. Too bad the kid didnt hear that.
I think the funniest part of the show was when she didnt know what walmart was. She thought it was a place to buy walls. I wonder if that was set up or if she really didnt know what walmart is. Do these people ever watch tv and see the commercials??

It's actually her sister Nikki that has the line not Paris.

Where are you getting these figures from? Even Bill Gates is ~only~ worth $69 Billion this year and he is the richest in the US right now. I don't think Rick Hilton even has much to do with Hilton Hotels, he's actually a real estate developer if I recall correctly. Their great-grandfather was the one that built the Hilton brand, not their father. I believe their family worth is actually about $400 million now, not $53 billion.

Yes, two more siblings but several years younger...like 13 and 9 now?

It seems like some of the things they say are almost scripted though.

It probably is scripted to a point. I remember on the last episode of the second season of the Osbournes they showed out takes of the first season where Ozzy screwed up his lines and they re shot it. Then they showed him sitting in his garden and he looks at the camera and says, "anymore stupid questions"

I don't believe any of the "reality" shows aren't scripted somewhat.

damn, i'm 'almost' embarassed to say i watched the show, but the g/f insisted. anyhow, paris can't be that dumb to ask "what does generic mean?" and "do they sell walls at wal mart?". you've got to be kidding me! with all that $$$ i hope her parents at least gave her a decent education!

Then again i was thinking last night I'd trade my knowledge of generic foods and walmart for her bank account.

Her parents certainly tried, lol. At least for a year, Paris went to the same private high school as me in NYC. It is a very small school, and I only remember seeing her a handful of times. After a year or so she was expelled. I don't know what happened to her after that; however, I heard she got kicked out of a bunch of different NYC schools.

I belive the Hilton fortune is more in the $500mil range. Still nothing to sneeze at, but there is a BIG difference between that and $53billion...

Also, Paris and her sister will only (and eventually) inherit around $30mil. Which won't even buy a Gulfstream. They're wealthy (or will be) but not uber-wealthy.

I bet by the time their inheritance kicks in, they've earned more than it's value on their own with their antics.

Yea, they will have to split the fortune up with the rest of the family, they will get 30 million, that's 15 mil a piece which isnt bad. Not sure if they get any pieces of the company though, if they did that would be worth more than their inheritance probably.

    Artherd,

You're right, I think the show estimated the Hilton family's fortune to be around $550MM. It's not exactly pocket change, but not $53 billion either.

So the figure is not entirely correct. Sue me. I have a lawyer on retainer.

I have tried digging up the source, but I keep getting that “500 million” estimate. You cannot tell me that the Hilton Empire is a paltry triple digit million, worldwide casinos and acquisitions, it has to be in the billions. The Hyatt is a smaller empire estimated in the billion range. I was able to find a little something on the Hyatt’s problems.

actually, the hiltons are worth 550mill+ thr $42 that paris made today working at a dairy farm. Haha.
Now i have to admit that i would have trouble getting paid $42 for 9 hrs of work. Thats $5 an hour, even i pull in more than that, making $9.75 at my summer job working for my town.
From the way it seemed, wokring with cows isnt that bad. At least you can get used to that smell (according to the farmer guy). After 4 summers i still havent gotten used to the smell of wet garbage from parks, that have 4 days to sit and fester in the can. The worst are ones containing daipers. Needless to say im looking for an inside job this summer.

I watched the show last night (Wed) which appears to be the second show and the farmer told the girls "you were here for 9 hours and I figure you did about 6 hours of work so I'm giving you $42.00." That comes to $7.00 per hour.
