Came across this 308 race engine. Shown with fuel injectors, it was later reverted back to the four original Weber carbs for better performance. 1. Heads were reworked and flowed. 2. Competition cams were installed. 3. New Manley valves were installed. 4. New Wiseco pistons and connecting rods were installed. 5. A sixteen quart oil reservoir was installed in the same location as the passenger side gas tank (Not necessary for street use.)
"reverted back to the four original Weber carbs for better performance" Now don't get me wrong, because I love weber carbs, but a properly setup FI system will out perform the original Weber 40 DCNF carbs.
Pretty cool. Any links to specific details - carb jetting, cam type, compression ratio? With all the 300hp 308 threads on this and the old board, we can safely say that a normally aspirated 300hp 308 engine is a holy grail of street Ferrari engines. I think FChatter Philip Airey is one of the closest with his P-6 cammed 308. We want details!

Philip's car is cool, no question, but I think Mike E. 308 sets the bar. Dunno what his numbers are, but with his latest blower he is way past the 300 hp line. Probably around 350 or so. He is DA MAN! Can't wait till he has his blower avail as a kit.
Andreas, A naturally aspirated 300 hp 2V 3.0 liter engine street engine is pretty good. I cheated, so it doesn't really count. It's much hard to make hp the without boost. My car on a dyno with the old blower system at 10 psi made 250 ft-lb touque @ 5000, 304 hP @ 6800, both rear wheel numbers, so about 290 & 352 at the crank. I haven't dyno'd it with the new stuff (intercooler and 21 psi), but driving it, it's making quite a bit more now. I think about 600-620 crank hp, I'll post graphs when I get them, but it looks like it won't be until spring now that the snow is flighing here. Mark
Miles McAndrew's GT4 race car project belongs to Martin at Cavillino Motors and the car is currently in Sarasota as a "long term" project to get back on the track again. The photo looks like the engine in the car. Paul
It is the Miles McAndrew's GT4. I think just doing the head work he did would substantially improve the performance of the engine. I don't know what he did. It just says "heads were reworked and flowed." I have different cams in my '76 308 and they sure make a difference. I don't know what they are, the local Ferrari shop did it. I'll look in the service records and see if I can out what the are. ???
