anyone following Gallardo prices?

    any real selling numbers to report? i see the asking prices but wondering if they're really changing hands at those numbers. seems like you could get a slightly used murci for close to the prices i'm seeing gallardos advertised at.

    will be interesting to see how long the premium lasts...

    if you surf the lambo dealer sites, they all seem to show available, imminently-incoming cars. i've been contacted by a dealer trying to sell me a gallardo - i didn't follow the details (uninterested) but it was definitely short timeframe stuff.i find it hard to believe that anybody is paying any real premium on them except the ULTRA die-hards.

    People are most certainly paying premiums for early deliveries, up to 50,000 for e-gears. All dealers who are truthfull have told me to expect 8-12 months if i was to order one today. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE GALLARDO IN THE U.S. FOR SALE AS OF YET.

    I was told that each dealer gets two Demo cars (not for sale) and then car for sale start coming in Feb/March. If someone is driving a Gallardo in the States, he bought a demo car.

    interesting data, allan - thanks.

    i was under the impression they were being delivered. i guess it's all just pre-delivery marketing exercises. smart work on the dealers' part.

    i'm spoiled - lambo usa isn't too far from home and i've been able to gander and poke at all the latest pre-ship. i guess i just assumed everybody could :).

    i was under the same impression, hence my question. i guess i'll resurrect this thread in march.

    i could have sworn lambo dallas said they were starting delivery in nov!

    I saw a Gallardo in a parking lot in LA the other day. I stoped to take a look at it and Chris Tucker the comedian climbs out. Nice looking car but not as nice as a 360.

    The cars on the ground until now have been the dealer demo units. The first cars actually ordered by clients are on 747's right now and will be arriving to dealers in a few days. Only the December cars will be air-shipped then they will be shipped in containers like the 360's.

    Remember...Lamborghini can't build as many Gallardo's as Ferrari can 360's so don't look for available cars at msrp anytime soon.

    When i was at Lamborghini Scottsdale, the guy showed me a list of names (atleast 10) which had Ferrari 360 trade ins towards Gallardos. He said the Gallardo will badly hurt 360 re-sale.

    does lambo have authorized repair centers in the major cities? ie, if someone lives in houston and buys from lambo dallas - do you have to truck the car to dallas for every warranty issue?

    Yep. Friend here in SA had a Diablo roadster, they wouldn't go out of their way for anything, recalls included. Not necessarily LoD, but whichever importer. LoD has not been around that long, so YMMV.
