Marty, Thou shalt not make fun of your lord. ps. when to you return to the prommised land (Santa Barbara)?
Somewhat alphabetical, sometimes unpronounceable, in no order of "favoritism," and definitely incomplete list: (some names are as they were on the old site) Vintage = Respect Amenasce | Wayne Ausbrooks | Boudewijn Berkhoff | Bert de Boer | French Touch (Tof70) | Gilles27 | James Glickenhaus (Napolis) | Jack Habits (************) | Dirk de Jager | Bryan Phillips (Bryanp) | Kare Pietila | Rijk Rietveld | Joop van der Meer
Does this mean I'm getting old ? Thanks for the mention> I agree with your list & I would add Doody, Martin, Dave AKA MaranelloMan, Tigermilk, John Kofod, Mat and I know theres a bunch more
Bruce Wellington, James Glickenhaus, Rob Lay, Bill Hart, Sean Harris, Jordan Witherspoon, Andrew Menasce and a lot of others... i have a lot of respect for Darth550, Mark PDX, Gilles, Kenny Herman, Hubert Otlik, Rob Ferretti and many others... This is a great place; i love this board... It's like my home away from home... Actually, this IS my home and my other home is just my home away from home...
One of the things i value most about this site is that much can be debated here without rancor. That is a result of the respect which each participant holds for the other. Thus, being judged a respected member says just as much about you guys as it does me. Thanks.
I can't think of one person I would say that are generally above the rest. Of course I feel Rob deserves top honors but there are so many people here with different personalities and thoughts that you cannot really say one is better than the next. I can say that I have "met" many highly intelligent people on here that amaze me with all the knowledge not just with Ferrari but other things out there people deal with every day. You definitly don't have to be the smartest to be interesting and even the people that show up every now and then and add there two cents are valuable to the community.
classy... (now why didnt i think of making this post, but with my name??) add this guy to the top of the list.
I agree with Tifosi on this. There are so many great enthusiasts here that we almost need to have categories winners. A few who haven't been mentioned: Dealers: Sean Harris and Bill Noon. (I leave out Martin and a few others because they participate as full members rather than as dealers, and rightly so.) Low-buck enthusiasts: Ken Allyn. Here's a guy who puts as much into his Lotus Europa restoration as Jim G. puts into his mega-racers, and he is always willing to share his well-considered thoughts on any subject. Collectors: LabCar. A truly generous guy with a great sense of style. I'm also surprised that no one has mentioned Chris Parr, probably because he doesn't post as often as he used to. He's surely near the top of my all-time list.
Exactly! I value all the members here. There is a wealth of quality information available on almost any topic you can imagine. If I had to mention one name, it would be Rob, for providing the medium through which we disseminate our opinions. So, to sum it up. Thanks to every member here for contributing! The passion expressed here for Ferrari and every other topic is a testament to the passion for life that defines us as enthusiasts.
And no one has mentioned Roland Linder? I think a few of us have had rides in the LM and over for BBQ.
How could I have forgotten! I definetly respect Mr. Linder! I had a short ride in his car and it was a blast even though we never got out of first gear. What other car than an F40 can do that?
