I didn't see it listed, but...
The best car for under $200k would have to be the 77 Toyota Corolla I owned years back...
When my wife made me sell it after we got married, "because she thought it was ugly" it had 324k miles on it,
That was the most indestructible car ever.

LOL, Dave - that reply puts this whole thread to shame...! Nothing can compare to that...!

RJKlein, i would go with a 360 CS, but i know someone will come along and ask what you mean by best...? Best in the snow, best for street gas mileage, best for peDEStrian looks, best for 0-60, best for luggage space...? Maybe best overall...?

In any case, my choice would be the 360 CS; either that or spend $200k on equipment that would aid me in successfully stealing an Enzo... :)

If you want to use it every day or 2 get a used 550 / 575. It is the easiest to run and maintain.

If you only want it for warm weather occasional outtings - used 360.

If you want the most WOW factor, a Diablo 6.0.

    I say this surrounded by friends with a 308, 328, 348, 355, 360, 550, Murcielago plus my cars.

For what ? For a daily driver, you can't beat a BMW M5. They're fast, handle well, are reliable, seat five and are relatively inexpensive to work on ; compared to a Ferrari, they are CHEAP to work on. For a track car, the new Lotus looks to be hard to beat. For an exotic, in that price range I would go with a 550.

A 246. You have enough left over to get the rust off, repaint it, rebuild everything and have the prettiest car ever.

I am talking about the absolute most car for $200k.

I have a 360 coupe and love the car, but I have some extra cash and was looking.

I would love to find a F-40, but I am 6-7 and I would have to have a custom seat made.

I was also thinking Vanquish, but would rather stay with Ferrari. I love the personality of the cars. Yes you can say many negative things about the cars, but the positive far out weigh the negative in my book. Every time I get to start my 360, tubi, test pipes, it just puts a grin from ear to ear.

My goal in cars it to have a F-50 some day.

If you want the most car you can get for under $200k, the new Ford GT looks to be hard to beat if the magazine test are correct.

I'd go for the C-4 turbo cab (new). Too bad the 360 Spyder doesn't fit into this budget. Otherwise it's the 355 F-1 Spyder.......

"Every time I get to start my 360, tubi, test pipes, it just puts a grin from ear to ear."

I felt like that about my 360 and, if that experience is what you want, some of the cars suggested, including the Maranellos, may not be right for you. It's not that you can't put an aftermarket exhaust on anything - it's just that the Maranello experience is so different from that offered by the 360. Will you be happy with a true GT?

BWS88TR: I see your Duster and Dart, and raise you a bright yellow Nova with a 350.

You say you want the "most car" - to me that means the Ford GT. It's just fast as hell. But I would take the CS if I were looking at other factors, like sex appeal

If you can find a proper US F40 for 200 or under, I'll take 3.

I think from a driving perspective, the Diablo 6.0 is hard to beat. It's great looking, fast, beast-like, and very Italian feeling (more so than the Murci or the Gallardo). Where it hurts is that it's hard to sell when you're ready, doesn't have a razzle dazzle of a Ferrari, and it's not the best for every day.

Got to be a 512 M!! If you like that style. You can’t go past it. The last of the Testarossa’s and affordable rear engined 12’s and only about 500 of them made, so they will become a rare hard to find classic sooner or later. I don’t know how much they are in the US, but here in Australia there were only a couple imported, so we look to the UK & Europe, where you can find a good one for around 65 000 to 70 000 pounds. I’m not sure of the conversion rate UK to US but I’m sure you would have plenty left over for a tidy up.
