I just got confirmation yesterday that the 512BBi that I recently purchased will be featured on the cover of Griot's Garage (www.griotsgarage.com) national catalog this spring/summer. The photo shoot is scheduled for January 7th.

I'm really thrilled that they want to use it!

    Congratulations Gary!

While we're on the subject: Does anybody know more about the Gilles Villeneuve car from the last issue?

I know it is mentioned in the catalog, but doesn't tell you much. So how does this all work, does he ask owners of some really cool Ferraris for a photo shoot?

Is the Villeneuve car btw the same car that was in the Historic F1 GP at the USGP last year?

The Villeneuve car on the recent catalog cover belongs to Richard Griot (owner of Griot's Garage). He bought it about two years ago and plans to race it in vintage races and exhibitions. I've seen it a number of times and it's VERY NICE!!!

    Thanks!

I hadn't even thought about compensation. Just getting my car on the cover is enough for me! ;)

I would like to get a big enlargement of the cover printed up to frame in my garage, once it's published.

Richards car is the 312T4 - THe 1979 Long Beach Winning race car - I think it only ran a couple races that one and South Africa....but I am not sure

Good luck Gary - let me put it this way - Richard Griot is one of only a few people in this world I haven't any respect for - on both a personal and professional level

Nick Mason has a very nice 312T as well. I saw it at Goodwood. I could see you in one of those.

    Gary,

Congrats on the cover shoot! The car sure is beautiful. Where is the Fiat? I can't see it in your garage. You haven't relegated it to the driveway, have you?

    Sorry for the cliffhanger

But let me put it this way - Griot got off easy - I should be suing him right now. I have a valid case but because it would probably bring unwanted press and dig into our private lives I've let it drop......

I wish him and his buddy well
