That's Classified Information. But wait, there's more!

Since President Bush declared an end to major combat on May 1...
    satellite dishes are legal.

foreign journalists aren't on 10-day visas paying mandatory and extortionate fees to the Ministry of Information for "minders" and other government spies.

there is no Ministry of Information.

there are more than 170 newspapers.

you can buy satellite dishes on what seems like every street corner.

foreign journalists and everyone else are free to come and go.

a nation that had not one single element-legislative, judicial or executive-- of a representative government, does.

in Baghdad alone residents have selected 88 advisory councils. Baghdad's first democratic transfer of power in 35 years happened when the city council elected its new chairman.

today in Iraq chambers of commerce, business, school and professional organizations are electing their leaders all over the country.

25 ministers, selected by the most representative governing body in Iraq's history, run the day-to-day business of government.

the Iraqi government regularly participates in international events. Since July the Iraqi government has been represented in over two dozen international meetings, including those of the UN General Assembly, the Arab League, the World Bank and IMF and, today, the Islamic Conference Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today announced that it is reopening over 30 Iraqi embassies around the world.

Shia religious festivals that were all but banned, aren't.
You got to fight... for the right... to Shia Paaaaaaar-ty!

for the first time in 35 years, in Karbala thousands of Shiites celebrate the pilgrimage of the 12th Imam.

the Coalition has completed over 13,000 reconstruction projects, large and small, as part of (a) strategic plan for the reconstruction of Iraq.

Uday and Queasy are dead - and no longer feeding innocent Iraqis to his zoo lions, raping the young daughters of local leaders to force cooperation, torturing Iraq's soccer players for losing games...murdering critics.

children aren't imprisoned or murdered when their parents disagree with the government.

political opponents aren't imprisoned, tortured, executed, maimed, or are forced to watch their families die for disagreeing with Saddam.

millions of longsuffering Iraqis no longer live in perpetual terror.

    Saudis will hold municipal elections.

Qatar is reforming education to give more choices to parents.

Jordan is accelerating market economic reforms.

the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the first time to an Iranian -- a Muslim woman who speaks out with courage for human rights, for democracy and for peace.

Because American media is dominated by liberals...

...and France doesn't have a clue. USA is not war mongers. It takes years of getting our cage rattled for us to act. Always does. Folks in the military (and the CIC) are the MOST reluctant to go to war. We know what happens. But we also know that freedom is the most compelling reason to go to war, even if it isn't your own country (i.e. France, England, Germany, Poland, Russia etc.).

But what makes USA even more special is the freedom to express your opinion just as Nibblesworth has done. I respect that. I don't agree but still respect his opinion and him for having the nuts to say so.

If all that is true then the Media is doing the US agreat dis service & helping the cause of the enemy by demoralizing everyone who reads their garbage & poisoning US opinion against US action in Iraq. Disgraceful on the media's part

This looks like one of those BS emails that goes around for a few weeks until it winds up on Snopes and gets completely shot down for being unfounded propaganda. Not that I *want* it to be false, but I don't put a whole lot of worth in these "send this to everyone you know" feelgood emails.

    Based on this e-mail sounds like the Ministry of Information is running just fine, only the directors have changed;

    > Since May 1...the first battalion of the new Iraqi Army has graduated and is on active duty* AND HAS A 50% DESERTION RATE

    > you can buy satellite dishes on what seems like every street corner. DISH or DIRECT-TV? LOUIE DeVITO and JOHN GOODMAN TO BE REPLACED BY MOHAMMED AND FASIL IN FUTURE COMMERCIALS?

    > foreign journalists and everyone else are free to come and go. THEY JUST CAN"T REPORT ANYTHING NEGATIVE

    > Shia religious festivals that were all but banned, aren't. ARN'T THESE ARE THE SAME SECT THAT HELD AMERICANS HOSTAGE FOR 400 DAYS IN IRAN

    > millions of longsuffering Iraqis no longer live in perpetual terror. YEA, ITS EVERY MUSLUM'S WET DREAM TO BE OCCUPIED BY A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY

    > the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the first time to an Iranian AND 2 YEARS AGO IT WAS AWARDED TO YASSIR ARAFAT

    > Uday and Queasy are dead NO PROBLEM THERE! SADAM AND OSSAMA STILL SEEM TO BE ALIVE AND WELL

    > Since May 1...nearly all of Iraq's 400 courts are
functioning. GOOD, THE BACKLOG OF WOMEN WAITING TO BE BEHEADED CAN FINALLY BE REDUCED

    > Since May 1...pharmaceutical distribution has gone from essentially nothing to 700 tons in May to a current total of 12,000 tons. AND WILL HIT 25K TONS AS SOON AS AFGHANASTAN GETS ALL IT'S POPPY FIELDS BACK UP AND RUNNING

    > Since May 1...a Coalition program has cleared over 14,000 kilometers of Iraq's 27,000 kilometers of weed-choked canals. They now irrigate tens of thousands of farms. This project has created jobs for more than 100,000 Iraqi men and women SEE ABOVE

    > Since May 1... Iraqi banks are making loans to finance businesses. GOOD, MAYBE THEY CAN PAYBACK THEIR DEBT TO RUSSIA, FRANCE AND GERMANY SO THEY GET OFF OUR BUTTS AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT LOOSING REBUILDING CONTRACTS

Keep in mind that most vaccinations they're trying to cure over there require a series... not individual shots like they are counting. Thats misreported. Any MDs care to speak up? Even fudging the numbers and they only cured a couple of million people, its more than Saddam was doing for his people.. ?

Nice post maranelloman. No matter what we do people will always hate us. This has happend to EVERY super power that has ever existed. Happend to the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, English, French, Spanish, etc. Now it is happening to the U.S., and will happen to what ever country becomes the next superpower of the world. But ask yourself this were would you rather live? If your answer isn't here in the United States of America then leave.
