Sam, the winters can definitely get brutal, but you get used to it. Sounds strange, but I think I'd miss the winter. Maybe.

 

Oh I know that street. Ive been on it a few times when I took a trip out to see Meigs. Thankfully I saw the airport before the mayor tore it up...

I love that white TR. Alaska license plate "SNW WHT". I heard there are a lot of oil guys who bought Pantera's, and the owner of a 4X4 shop in Anchorage has a few Porsches.

Four perfect seasons each lasting about three months. Just a little snow and about one week over 90. Plenty of mountains and winding roads. Some flat straightaways. Lots of lakes. Atlanta is 2.5 hrs away. No income tax. Low property tax. $25 annual car registration. Cheap houses.

Not crowded - yet. Please don't move here. Best kept secret in the US - and I've been lots of places.

 

Thats awesome!! I had no clue there were nearly that many. Id imagine some of the roads out there in the summer time must be great! Cant imagine how many stares a red convertible Ferrari gets in Alaska either lol. One of these days Im going to take you up on your offer and fly up there Somehow I think you havent really lived until you have driven through Alaska in a Ferrari!

 

look in the start of this thread. There are a couple of pics of the Iron Range in MN. By the way please let me know where there is no speed limit ( i think you got some bad info)

 

For a couple years in Montana it was kind of no speed limit on some highways during the daytime. You had to drive at a reasonable speed with regard to traffic. But it's not that way anymore.

 

Jordan, you're right. The airport used to be right behind where the picture was taken. The mayor insists it will be used as public park land. My money is on condos.

California! I have lived in a lot of the states and California is my favorite. It is the most beautiful place in the country. It's a great place to live.
