Well the boys just completed a major on my
    550. They had $175 worth of unusual items but anyhow
the price was a little over $4300. I'm more than happy with that price!!
definitely square shooters.Tom Mellet at Car store glenside told me they were and he was right on as usual.
My thanks to Mark, Mike and Tom!!!!!!!

I don't have a copy of the invoice but labor was $2700
balance parts. I was so elated about the total that I didn't ask them to fax me a copy for my perusal! I was expecting 5000-5500 from
reading previous posts on this topic.

If you don't mind my asking, did you have any 'consumables' (tires, pads, discs) done or was it 'just' about servicing the car itself ?

Don't think so car wasn't even due yet it is a 99 model with 9000
miles. Just routine unnecessary belt changes etc.
I'm saving $9900 in taxes since car will be not be delvd 90
days after purchase. (California) so I thought it would be a good time to have major done etc

    Banana boat,

I am in a similar position - 99 with just under 10K miles. I took my car in for some minor work (replacing brake pads) and discovered a small oil leak. As the mechanic had to do some things to get to the leak, I decided to go ahead and have the major service done (belts etc). It cost me right around $3800 but the guy who is doing it is an independant so his hourly rate is a little less than the dealership mechanics. My guess is the the labor probably took about the same time as yours. I was supposed to get her back today but I was also having a rim repaired and the guy didn't get the color quite right so I am going to have to wait until the 24th to get her back (I am off on vacation for the next 10 days). I really wanted to drive my baby one more time before the 10 day break. Ah well, c'est la vie!!!

Would you mind posting the breakdown, or emailing me?

I'm picking up my 12k mile '97 tomorrow from Ferrari of San Antonio/Barrett, and it is significantly more. I'm curious where the difference is.

    Thank you very much.

I'm picking up my 1999 9600 mile 550 from Scottsdale Ferrari tomorrow after the major service. Subtracting the $450 of work to fix a coolant leak, the total was $4400. There were some nits to fix; hairline cracks in the ceramic injector tips (less than $50 in total parts), and replace the missing plastic buttons which retain the hood insulation blanket (resulted in a 99 point score, instead of a 100 points at our club concorso).

    Hi Wayne:

Glad to hear you got off light at the Ferrari Dealer. I know I sold you that car too cheap.. ;-)
Are we going to see you at Barrett-Jackson? I have a 97 355 Spider going through on Saturday during the SPEED telecast. Run # 714. Its going over the block at NO RESERVE so it should be very interesting.
