I powder coated the A-arms and springs. Replated and baked all fasteners. Replaced the bushings with Polyurethane from Energy Suspension. Repacked the bearings. Repainted the spindle. Then, I Topped it off with a set of F50 front brake calipers.

Do you have to go up size on the wheels now or do the brakes clear ok?

    very nice clean work.

what kind of 17's did you get to work with the single nut? or am I just mis-reading the pictures for lug bolts?

Ric...your work is in a class by itself! Do you have a plater nearby where you send things to for replating? And I too would be interested in seeing what wheels you are using. Terrific job....!

    Thanks for the kind comments.

The plater is Texas Precision Plating in Garland, TX (a suburb of Dallas). They do good work, at reasonable prices... and they're FAA approved. If you plate any of the suspension pieces, it's a good idea to have them baked to MIL spec (8+ hrs) to avoid further hydrogen embrittlement.

Rick I am also interested in details regarding the list of parts, pricing, and sources. Your pictures reinforce in my mind that the knock off TR set up while having some disadvantages is much cooler looking than the lug type. Side note- I am gettin ready to release for sale a neat line of TR upgrade components with the first item being a carbonfiber/lexan engine bonnet which is a bolt-on and shows off the great looking flat 12.
    Again Bravo great work!
    Best regards,
    John

Hi ric very nice job you've done there well done, nice pics to thanks,
remember to tighten those four each side wishbone arm bushes on the floor fully weighted move the car around and let the bushes relax-four post lift is ideal for this, then four wheel alignment check-enjoy
    cheers

Firstly, very nice work Rick. I’m just finishing off the same job, amongst others on my TR and I’m also looking into upgrading the brakes. I noticed you only talked about upgrading the front brakes and not the rear; did you also upgrade the rear? If not are you going to? I ask because the rear of the car is carrying so much weight and I’m just wondering if just replacing the front brakes and not the rear would cause some major problems with proportioning, etc.

Nicely done. SS brake lines would be a nice functional addition. Are you doing this for show or for go?

If you look closely in the last picture, you will see the stainless brake lines, wrapped with a protective spiral sheath. :) I put them on right before the calipers, so you see the old lines in the top photos.
