I knocked over my colour coded 355GTS roof panel yesterday whilst refitting it to the car. Doh!

I have chipped the roof paint in a few places, (not too badly), and wondered if anyone had any insight into doing a good DIY stonechip repair?

I've heard that building up layers of paint with touch-up, then gently finishing it with v. fine wet & dry glasspaper & T-cut or similar does a good job.

    Anyone got any views/experience?

    Robert.

If you use touch up paint, then I would recommend 'Langka', a sort of paste that flattens out touch up paint to avoid it standing proud of the painted surface. It doesn't harm the surrounding paintwork and is very easy to use. It seems to work by dissolution rather than abrasion. Available in the UK from http://www.frost.co.uk costs £12.76.

    Robert,

I agree with the views on paint the other's are suggesting, But under no circumstances use T-Cut, It's far to abrasive for the Water based paint Ferrari use, There is a product out there that I have sed that is far less abrasive and does any equally good job with damage, I'll find it name out and post here for you !

    Cheers,

    Steve

Does this Langka actually work? Is it just available on line or can it be bought from the UK?

Welcome to the forum GTS328UK, The short answer is there are specialist in the UK that stock it and you get it by mail order, but the easiest way is via Online - Good Service though !

Make sure you visit the General Discussion forum and register your car on the 328 Registry - Look for 328 Owners, there are nearly 200 cars registered now, BobD's post tells you waht to do, either that or PM as I have reluctantly become the UK custodian of the Registry.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Thanks folks- will give Langka a whirl. Sounds ideal as I was concerned about the effect an abrasive would have on the metallic's lacquer.
