Most people have never heard live music. I know it's hard to believe but
it's true. Most people hear their music on a boombox or car radio. They
have no Idea what music really sounds like. That's why most recordings
today sound lousy, The people who do the recording don't know what
live music should sound like. If your play an Instrument you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm probably goin' to regret this one, but...

What makes you think a recording is supposed to sound like live music? Maybe live music is supposed to sound like the recording.

You know, that doesn't sound right. I think that anyone in the recording industry certainly knows what live music sounds like. I would go so far to say that their love of music is what propelled them into that career to begin with, and I am willing to bet that most of them are muscians.

What in the **** are you talking about?
If I am the recording or tracking engineer on a classical music CD project,
then what the hell am I listening to when I am doing my recording? "Live Music"

Most toddlers I know make their won live music. If you are implying that older people dont remenber, the certainly will when the reproduce themselves.

Some of us have stereos at home that can distinquish a poor CD player from an excellent CD player playing the same CD. Many times these stereos cost more in total than a typical automobile--i kid you not.

Most recordings sound lousy because you are listening to the wrong kind of music!

Tell me about it. When someone ask me if I have a Ferrari I tell them it's
    in my living room.

Replying to the replies, because I can't see the original :)

Based on the last 3 concerts I went to, live music consists of too much bass and muffled (offkey) vocals. Give me a good recording anytime
