I was wondering if there are kits to rebuild 348 water pumps like there are for 308s? How many of you just buy a new water pump? Are the bearings common place and easy to find at local suppliers or ?. Thanks.

FWIW, a friend recently advised that any O'Reilly can send in non stock units for rebuild.

I recently did my 308GTB and he said they could handle rebuilding these.

Really? So how does it work? How long, etc.?

It is generally part of a major service--rebuild or replace the water pump. It last longer than a major service interval, but since it is so hard to get at with the engine in the car, you might as well get it done when the engine is pulled.

The kit includes new bearings and seals, and likely a new impeller.

So they do sell kits for the 348 like the 308? I know for the 308 what comes in it and would suspect the same for the 348 but I haven't seen any kits.

The PIA is that the bearing shaft is swaged over the hole in the pulley. You have to drill out the swaged part of the shaft to get the pulley off :(
I have not tried to source the bearings yet but something tells me it’s going to be a licensed SKF part.
