My favorite of all time is the ALFA Romeo 8C2900 as pictured (if the picture does not show, I'll try again). I think that is embodies every aspect of the ultimate classic. Bob Z
Have to go with the Maserati Tipo 160 - 61. The birdcage was the racing standard. Of course this just proves that I am 10 years to young. In the early 70s, late 60s you could pick these puppies up for for a couple of grand.
Favorite realistic re 69 I could actually buy ? Well I already have my 68 Vette so I'd go for a 64 Shaguar E type Favorite dream car, 330P4 or 250 TR
I like the 365GTB/4 Daytona Spyder, but since it was not offered by the factory until 1971, I guess its not considered "vintage" ?
Muira, but like most old Lambos, they need a LOT of work as there are several severe design flaws. But if I had the resources, I'd spend the money. That is the car I grew up drooling over.
So what are the serious design flaws in the Miura? It is one of my favorites as well and would like to find out the downside of these.
This is the car I hope to own one day, an Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale: (photo, should it come through) is from sheehan's ferraris-online.com archive)
There is a material under the gas tank that hold water and rusts the frame and the tank. This needs to be replaced and the rusty parts repaired. The oil pickup is VERY suspect. When the engine is hot, a hard right (or is it left) hand turn starves the engine of oil and kaboom. There is a modification for this too. I'd find a REAL Miura expert and ask them about what to look for if you're seriously shopping for one. The wrong car would be a huge headache and they're so rare that you can't afford to just buy the first one you find.
Any Aston (esp that db4 Zag seen above) Lambo 350 VOLVO P1800 GTS with factory supercharger blowing a nice 180hp from a 4 banger (eat that Swedish meatball buddy)
Well, if you're going to ride in one vintage Ferrari, you can't get much better than that... I'd vote for the 250 Le Mans Sperimentale... (until I thought of something even better from Maranello)
