This just arrived at Miami airport and is waiting to clear Customs. :D
Ferraribob, That is awesome! You must be so immensely excited!! Congratulations on the purchase and the arrival - that interior is beautiful. Now if they can only take off that pre-delivery white tape so we can see the beautiful paint!! I can see the stripe under the tape! sweeeeeet.
I'm sooo anal, that I'm afraid I would keep the white protective tape ON! (when growing up, we had the plastic on the furniture)
Congratulations!! I just came here to post that I was told the first US Stradales had made it to some dealers! And there was your post... with pics! Tell me please, what does the F1 plate say... does it have "2003" on it? If so, wow they were quick. If not, you may have a real rarity... one of the very few Stradales that have the older plate. Then again, who knows when they get the new plates made and going in the cars? Inquiring minds want to know...
Brian, It's funny that you asked that. When my dealer asked me to place an order back in July, I told them "what if Ferrari wins the championship? I want to make sure I have 2003 on the plate!" So I'm placing my order this month. Paul
hi bob, congratulations! one of the first stradales in the US!!! very exciting! mine is scheduled to arrive in mid-february once you've had a chance to drive your new stradale a bit can you give us all an overview (with as much detail as you like) as to your impressions? i can't wait to hear what you think i'm also curious if you have any problems getting up and down typical driveways since the stradale is lower than a regular 360 and the nose extends a bit further. can you specifically tell us about the exhaust sound, road noise, etc. i read a post by gian maria recently and he seemed to say that the stradale has less insulation and you can hear a lot of road noise, etc. from inside the car. not that this is a bad thing i'm just anxious to hear everything you can tell me about the sound. when you break in the car and have a chance to try the launch control can you tell us all about that also? i've read some posts about "breaking in the ceramic carbon brakes" on the stradale. i had no idea these brakes had to be broken in differently than traditional brakes. have you asked your dealer (or others) how best to break in the brakes? thanks
Wow, congrats! that is a very sweet machine If anyone is interested, RacingFlix.com has a well done review of a red Stradale done by the British TV show "5th Gear". You know, I would be very interested in a chassis number. One of the first CS delivered, wow. Ow, I'm also interested in a ride, so if you are ever in the Netherlands, drop me a mail please
why are they flying them in? that's not normally what they do. it's damn expensive ($3K per car or so?). are they "behind" on delivering the first ones? or is there some event they're planning for and they want them to be in the country? doody.
You lucky devil. Mine also is due in Feb, and you've just made the wait even harder! The red and black leather looks incredible, by the way. Please let us know what the drive (and sound) is like. If you need any assistance, I 'm only a short 15 hour drive away. Cheers and congratulations, Will
When you spend over $200K for a car like this, what's another $3,000+ for air freight? It's quicker and safer.
You are so lucky!!! I love your car!!!! This is exactly how I would order the car. The colors are awesome, inside and out! Is that the racing red or the standard corsa rossa red? Lyndon
