I am thinking about buying a 2+2 seater, but would need some fresh ideas and inputs. So, which 2+2 seater would you recommend (sportscar) ?
Ferraris or non-Ferraris, all sugestions are welcome.

    Merry Xmas to you all,
    Greetings from Anders in Sweden

Well, I think the 456 is about as good as a 4 seater Ferrari can get if you dont mind the 12 cyl. maint. costs. Although I hear the 456 is fairly reliable! If that is a bit out of your price range, Mondials and GT4s are great cars!

Out of the Ferrari spectrum, Id take a look at the Jaguar XJR...quite a sleeper. It will knock the socks off of some older Ferraris :)

It depends on your budget a lot...

    1. Mclaren F1 (Ok...it's not a 2+2 but a 1+2...)
    2. Scaglietti
    3. 456 gt or 456 gtm
    4. 996 Turbo
    5. Wait for a BMW M6
    6. 996 Carrera 2 or 4 or 993 Turbo
    7. Mondial t or 993 carrera 2 or 4

This would be more or less how I would sort them depending on budget.

Another alternative would be a BMW M3, but from what I have read the driving experience is not so big compared to a Ferrari or Porsche.

Besides your price budget, it also depends HEAVILY on who you need to put in the extra two seats. Infants? Babies? Small kids? Young adults? Other adults? Just stuff?

Some 2+2 cars have very different definitions of what it means to be +2.

It's hard to beat a BMW M5 or M3 for sports car performance with the room of a sedan.

I was pondering the same question with regards to the 456 vs. an Aston Martin. The boardis always a great place to get information and solicit other ideas.

    Sporty:
    456M GT
    996 C4S

    Luxury:
Bentley Continental R (there's actually a heck of a lot of room in the back seats, more than some small 4 doors)

    No budget stated so.....
    New....Porsche X50 Turbo $150K
    Used...456GTA $100K
    Used...Porsche Carrera 4 non-turbo $60K
    Used...Pontiac Firebird WS6 $30K

Also, I read Sweden (snow), so maybe the Porsche Carrara 4 with its four wheel drive is desirable. Automatic transmission may also be desirable.

Masserati is also a welcomed choice....

If your looking for a front engine GT car wait for the 612. If it's too much, Porsche 928GTS.
If you are not looking for a GT nothing beats the BMW M3, M5.

if your going to use it everyday even in the snow and ice of winter, a 964 911 carrera 4, don't bother with the later cars as they don't have real 4 wheel drive

but as far as F-cars are concerned

456Gt, Ferraris best Gt to date (imho)
    250GTE
    Mondial t
    308Gt4
400 (carb or I depending on the amount of use)

I like my Maser coupe very much. It's ok in snow with traction switched off and would be fine with snow tires. I'd drive one. I'm sure you can get a good deal . Interior is very nice. Rear seats are excellent.

Moderate - BMW M3 or M5 - fast, fun and 4 passengers. Plus decent trunks.

    Higher end - 456M, 612, mercedes cl55, porsche tt

Agree, except for Bentley, never had any experience with it before.

I like the 996 C2 better than C4s (IMO too stiff). I love P-cars as daily driver, C2 with "fish tail effect"

Off course for now no more P-cars, and I don't want to spend $ 300k for 612, therefore I vote for 456M and has to be 6 speed (GT)

for god's sake - it's called ferrari chat:

    250GT 2+2
    330GT 2+2
    365GT 2+2
    365GT/4 2+2
    400GT
    412
    456GT
    456GTM
    612

    Personal prefference:
    456
    330 GT 2+2

Unfortunately I don't want to wait long enough for the 456M to be in the 456 price range uotherwise it would be the M in that list. The 330 and the 456 seem to be the most practical if you want to use the rear seats on a regular basis.

I've had an 83 porsche and i've ridden in more current porsche and the back seat was a bad joke. The Aston is similar (unusable rear seat leg room if you want the passengers in front to be comfortable at all).

All IMHO and your personal opinion might vary.

    Hmmmmm,
But what worries me is that the 456GT or M seems to be very cold when you want to trade it in.
So, perhaps the P 996 is a better choise, but will I still keep my 328 GTS :)
    Merry Xmas !

Depends all on budget and taste, but here goes:

Low Price~Infinity G35 Coupe: Now with 4wd for the nasty weather, a useable rear seat, good handling and (hehehe) good gas mileage. Downside? Cheesy "Nissan Skyline" moniker.

Mid Price~Maserati 4200: Gorgeous syling, comfortable interior, great engine, gorgeous styling, italian heritage, and gorgeous styling. Light on its feet too. Downside? Weird Cambricorsa gearchenge and engine maintenance costs not the cheapest.

High-end price~Of course, the Ferrari 456M and upcoming 612 Scagletti. Downsides? Waiting for the Scagletti or buying the 456 and being less happy with it once the 612 comes out.

In the used Fcar market, the 400i and 330gt sound fun, and you cant leave out the Lamborghini Espada, it has a big back seat and V12, plus its a Lambo.

I'm an idiot. I just realized that the request was for 2+2's and not sedans. Oops!
