I don't have a garage yet. :( I have to keep my Ferrari in my sister in laws garage. But, we break ground on our new house in a few weeks, then I'll have my 4 car 1200 SF dream garage!! Don't worry pics will be plentiful.

The best way to go when doing your garage floor.

I would love to see more pics if anyone has them. Can't tell me Ferraris don't look awesome sitting on a yellow, red, and black floor!

I believe he was having difficulty deciding on red or yellow, so hey, why not both?

Not shop 720........the tiles I used on the floor are Porcelanosa Ston-ker 17x26" tiles.......they weigh 30 lbs each. Stone like appearance.

Is it just me who likes white/grey floors? I think the checkerboard floors are way too busy. If you must have a checkered flag on the floor, a subtle one of white and grey tiles is much more appealing. And a strong dark solid color on the floor like blue or red just sucks up the light and takes the emphasis away from the cars or nice carbintery, shelving, artwork, etc.

My opinion of course, but I think a light, unobtrusive floor is the way to go. It keeps the focus on things you want to focus on...

    - Apologies to all who have already put in stark checkerboards and rainbow-colored floors. No offense intended--just not my thing.

TVRFreak...I agree with you 100% on going with a natural looking or medium grey floor. Black and white is a bit much and the black will really show the dirt. I used black and white on my walls so I could let the cars and the cabinets bring the color into the room.

Lighting is also very important.......red and yellow cars look great under warm (3000-3400k) lighting whereas your silver/blue/black cars are better with 4400-5000k color temps. I've got 33 halogen lights in my small 20x20 garage with a mixture of normal and full spectrum (Lumiram) lamps. The main workshop (20x32') has 120 tube feet of T5 florescents (4100k), 18 Par30 task lights, 10 MR16/65w accent lights and 50' of Color Kinetric RGB LED lighting.

Ultgar - that is an awesome garage. I think I'm with you - the slate/stone flooring is less flashy than the checkboard style that is quite popular. What's the cost on those 17x26 tiles that you used?
