I separated these into months to make it easier to read and corrected the order of the August/Sept events. Obviously I have no issue with the schedule.

Any thoughts on moving the ECNs? It's just too freaking loud at Carson's (and the drinks are weak :D). Maybe I'm just too old....

Someone at the ECN suggested taping/TIVOing the 4 AM F1 races and having get togethers to watch them. Naturally this requires someone or multiple someones to be a host. Thoughts?

Also, we have people with boats and lake houses. Anyone want to show off one weekend during the summer? Ferraris at the Lake?

This is a really good idea.

Thanks for organizing the calendar. My entire philosophy in building it was to balance everything over the year. I didn't want any local or other popular events too close to each other.

The Fine Dining nights are really supposed to be a ECN, just at various places. Although the focus is more the food than partying. I'm flexible, I use to like Carsons, don't know anymore, it's always nicer when it's warm enough to be on the patio.

    Here's a completely goofy idea for summer/spring

How about invading the drive-in theatre in Granbury? We could cruise down there, unload our folding chairs and watch a relatively recent movie, and then people could either cruise back or stay at any of the local bed-n-breakfast places. They have double features on Saturday night and great greasy fries.

Not a place for the dust-free crowd, as the parking is typical grass-and-gravel drive in fare. Granbury is (was?) also home to the museum for the Great American Race

I still want to go to Sneaky Pete's in Lewisville on a Sat afternoon. I also want to go Snuffer's or something on Lower Greenville. Mercy winebar in Addison would be cool, but pricey....$15/glass. Even Sherlocks. Of course I like bars so my ideas skew that way.

A friend of a friend owns the baja boat dealership here. Perhaps we could organize some event with him at Lake Lewisville. Think he has a silver 355.

Basically, all the events I listed I'll have some part in organizing and running. Anyone else with an idea and motivation is more than welcome to put an event on the calendar. I'll help you with insurance (if needed) and getting the word out, but I'm tapped all out for organizing any more events.

    Let me know.

If it will ever rain so the lake will fill up, I might be up for a lake day. Chris could bring his boat down so we'd have 2. I drove my Ferrari down there once, people were stopping in the street driving by to check it out. I can't imagine what they'd do if we had a bunch of them. Parking might be a problem as we can only get about 3 cars in my driveway, but my neighbors would probably pitch in some spaces.

Is May too late for the poker run? It could be hot as hell by then and my ac hardly works.

You might have a point. The date is almost a month later than last year. It shouldn't be too close to the regional event, though, and with Easter being in early April in 2004 that means the only alternative date would be April 3rd or 4th -- and that's NASCAR weekend in North Texas.

The regional meet went about a month earlier this year, so we kinda flip flopped. That's about the earliest and still be a month from the regional.

With hopefully adding our own concours early in the year too, I think the events are aliged right. I would rather have it cool for the concours than the Poker Run. At least part of the Poker Run will be in the AC.

I like Carson's in general, but I like it better in the warmer months, where we can sit outside and check out the scenery, but still hear each other's lies. You can wander inside with the crowd whenever you want, to go pee or play grabass. :D

For a lake day, we could also do a morning run on a weekend down to Joe Puddle Lake in Cedar Hills/Grand Prairie. Eat at the Oasis and hang out. Could even do it in the afternoon, and blend it into the evening. Lots of parking there. BTW, that was one of our Poker Run stops last year.

Is there any way that Motorsports Ranch would put up with a group of us for a DE/Track Day? Maybe a special visitor rate on a day they think might be slow. I suppose that might have some sort of insurance issues, but you never know....

Sneaky Pete's is a great idea, especially if you bring the cars. They have a big parking lot and direct access to I35. I keep my boat about a half mile from there. It can be pretty nice on summer afternoons with the pool and there is LOTS of good scenery. Plus, for all those up to the challenge, there is always party cove. It makes Carsons on a good night look tame in comparison. Think lots of inebriated women who didn't have much clothes on to begin with.

...Jim Schad, your friend might even be able to bring a toy out with him from the dealership (demo?). I keep meaning to get down there and look for a good winter deal on one of those Bajas but I never get down there these days without a client or the boss in tow.

Oh my, I just think it's spectacular. It's like... oh my gawd, I just can't believe it. We could get together in the morning and pick our outfits and maybe have a cappuccino. Finishing off with a toy drive would just be the cherry on top. My favorite are the barbies, but the GI Joe's are sooo mmmm.

    :D

    Seriously, I think it's a great idea.

I like the Sneaky Pete's idea. I would even be up for the planning of that, or at least help.
