Some details which would complete the picture:
    Tracing Mid-12 roots to 365 GT4 BB.
Aerodynamic flow was also improved beneath the M.
Alluded to, but not specified: 4943cc was same as Testarossa.
Compression ratio of 10.4:1 not mentioned.
Wheel design similar to Mythos concept.
    Only 500 made.

Other than that, nice article! I haven't been to FF in quite a long while.

It was a good write up in general, and would be very informative for people not "schooled up" on Ferraris. No glaring technical errors, and that's good, because I know our gang would not tolerate any mistakes in that department. And I totally agree with the last comment about Ferrari making a new mid-engined car...that would be a hoot if they would create a modernized Testarossa.

I too had always had trouble adjusting and fooling with pop up headlights. The 512 M was the first departure from this problem...which started years earlier with the daytona. Needless to say trying to adjust headlights on a daytona is a pain and somewhat difficult task. I am not sure i want a mid engined Ferrari... I have never driven an F 40 or Enzo, but I love my Maranello...prefer it to my boxer or TR. I hope we stay with front engined cars (except for the unobtanable limited models). If I was up to trading my 86 TR I would definitely trade it for a 512 M.

The flat 12 (called 180° V12 by Ferrari)

    Right from the horses mouth.

It means the angle between cylinder banks.

A lot of V8s are 90 degrees between banks. A "flat" 12 cylinder like the TR and BB512 could therefore be a "V" of 180 degrees.

I think he got that one, I think he doesn't know what right from the horses mouth means, just like me.

Damn, where's Octogenetik when you need him? LOL

Obscure saying meaning "From the source" or "from a reliable origin".

I guess they mean they talked to Enzo personally, on this one!
