In typical Ferrari fashion there is the 'built in anticorrosion fluid dispensing system' cunningly disguised as small oil leaks here and there. What will they think of next? DJ
IT looks like the first F-car engine I have seen that can pass the USDA inspection in order to eat off of it. Nice effort !!!
Thanks guys, J Grande has a pretty nice one too. Check out http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1187 Man thats pretty!
Built in anti-corrosion! LOL! Looking at the pictures I was thinking the same thing as everyone else ....... where is the oil???? Beautiful car!
The car is not restored. It came from the factory in Giallo Fly paint (yellow). It was repainted due to a problem with bad primer used at the factory (so I was told). It is no longer it's original color. More of a Canary yellow. After purchase of the car I airbrushed all of the rock chips on the front of the car and any other dings or blemishes I could find on the rest of the body. I wet sanded the entire car with 800 grit then 1000 grit followed by dual action polish and glaze. After purchase of the car I spent close to four months stripping, cleaning and repainting the entire under body including the suspension and engine bay. I cleaned the engine and polished all of the aluminum I could get to without removing the engine. During this process I was able to do a second inspection (the first at the point of sale) of the floor pan, inner fenders and the space frames front and rear to reverify that the car had not been wrecked. The non-original items would be; The paint color steering wheel from a 328 both side view mirrors 16" wheels, 7" front and 8" rear spark plug wires Crane XR700 solid state ignition boxes emmisions equipment has been removed Euro license plates Euro turn signals on the front recessed bumpers early ANSA exhaust (as near as I can figure) indicator lights and manual overide for the cooling fans 6061 aluminum shift knob drilled pedals from Ultimatepedals.com DJ Image Unavailable, Please Login
By the way, nice QV you have there. I noticed the outflow vents on the front of your car are body color. I thought the US QV's came with black vents. Repaint? It looks good as it is. What is the color? DJ
KSullender, I just noticed the Euro turn signal lenses and chin spoiler on your car. I guess I just answered my own question!
Correct Spasso, it is a euro car. I picked up from original owner it has 32K miles on it. I would like to find a red QV with tan. Your car looks great!
Hey everyone, Im new here and I love 308s. Your 308 looks beautiful. The engine looks very nicely maintained... How does it run?
It runs very well but with typical 308 ownership one wishes for another 100 HP at least, just to make the power to weight ratio more in line with today's performance levels. Welcome to Fchat. Always happy to hear from 308 fans. Are you looking for one? If so, now is the time to buy. Many good deals out there. So good I have entertained the idea of buying another Fcar in addition to my GTS. DJ
