    Almost couldnt beleive my eyes. Christmas eve, about 1.30pm just driving home on A611 into Kirkby in Ashfield (Notts.) a red 288GTO passed me going towards Mansfield.
    Anyone likely to know who owns it? I mean, come on, they aint exactly common are they.
    Still, at least I've seen one now. Probably never see another one on the road.
    Dont suppose its anyone on here is it?

    Hi Mick,
    There is a 288GTO owner in Notts. Area .His username on this Board is Steve328 . I thought he was in New Zealand but i guess he may be back in UK. I'm sure he'll see this post and reply.

    i saw a gto on putney hill last year but was later told it was a fake, i'm still convinced it wasn't tho ;)

    The last 288 GTO I saw was I a long long time ago.
    How did that 2.8 liter V8 engine sounded? Amazing I guess?:)

    Good Evening Guys, (or morning were you are),
    I'm having a very hot Antipadean Christmas for a change, Just seen this post whilst checking in, Hope it's not mine, She should be safely tucked up in secure storage waiting to get he MoT done in early January ?
    Not that I'm worried or anything but just got to make a phone call.......
    No definately not mine... Mick, did you get the reg no., I know quite a few of the owners in the UK ?....Something else has just struck me, There are 2 for sale in Matlock, Derbyshire just over the border from Kirkby, Could have been someone test driving there Christmas present ?

    Thanks for the info. I'm afraid I didnt get the reg. number. I was too gobsmacked to think about it. I cant beleive there are two for sale in Matlock, thats only about ten miles from me. Are they trade or private?
    Are you based in the Notts area? Wouldn't mind a peek at yours one day.

    I wish I knew why. I'm begining to think I'm doing something wrong. Could be something to do with the roads around here. I think I'm lucky that within 10 minutes drive from me, I have the Derbyshire lanes and hills and within the same distance the other way, I have the fast, flat open roads of Lincolnshire. Spoilt for choice really. Now, about this GTO !!!!!!!!!!

    Mick,

    The GTO's that are for sale are trade, both are being sold on by Nick Cartwright, He advertise's in Classic and Sportscar mag, He doesn't have a web site of any description, (He's a bit old school), but has great car's and most of his business is done via Word of Mouth.
    1 is owned and run by Nick the other is a customer's car.
    I bought mine in here in the UK from it's first owner, Never thought I'd say this but I'm thinking of selling mine, I've found a really nice 275 GTB/4 for sale and wouldn't mind that - Still thinking about it ???
    But make me an offer and we can talk ?
