    Rob,
I get my aviation kicks from www.pprune.com (private pilots' rumour network). It's got 200,000+ subscribers. It's a vast forum, and I absolutely love it.

Not sure if you want to compete, but if nothing else, you could get some ideas from pprune--it's simply awesome. What I really like is the international flavour, and the inside knowledge by industry veterans.

From my perspective, I don't see the point of a whole aviation forum. I feel the few off-topic threads that are devoted to it from time to time are sufficient for the amount of traffic that could be generated by the aviation enthusiasts on here. A niche focus like R/C might be better, but I don't know if there are popular foums out there dedicated to this already (probably so).

Maybe you can build the traffic and make it a wothwhile effort. Nothing ventured, nothing gained,--I just hope it does not detract from your "core competency" ie. this board. I think you should build on this brand. Perhaps P-chat, perhaps Britcar-chat, etc. Aviation seems to be a bit of a stretch.

    Best,
    Faisal.
