Here are a few photos of mine of Mr. Linder's F40LM that I took when he came out here to California! Thanks again for the short ride
Hello Des, Thanks for your help and your kind words. To answer the seat situation, I had the car custom rebuild for me and we took the time to make my seat and space to fit my 6'3... Remember forza and the fire)We never did a change on the passenger side by just forgetting that..Sorry to have you stuck in my car but like this I'm always sure not to lose you in a corner. I'm glad that you had a great time to ride with me.- I was pleased to see some pics.from the New orleans event and that should help John to see the car. Happy new Year to you Des
Roland, LOL, absolutely no apologies necessary...! i would kill to be "stuck" in that seat... Thanks, again, for giving me the ride, it was truly awesome... Take care, my friend...
Thanks guys, you make me blush (it's OK since it;s red ), I love the pics from New Orleans and California. It's always good for an old racer to hear from friends that I had the pleasure to give a ride to. What good is it to have such a car if is not to share it. Des, old buddy, I'll take your offer and send you some pics from the engine bay for you to post. like this, the difference between stock and LM will be very obvious. Hello to you Matt and Sunny Regards, Roland E Linder
To tell the true, my crew had to pull him out while he was crying to stay in ther car. He didn't want to share the seat to a poor kid who was waiting in the sun for 2 hours.. Roland
Roland - LMAO...! i couldn't help it... It was a day i didn't want to end... Now, folks, while i wait for these pictures from Roland, i'll try and post a few more... Legend had it that flames in excess of two feet shoot out from the exhaust of this monster... i haven't seen it, but i know Matt LaMotte has... Tell us about it, Matt...
After i returned from New Orleans, a friend i had made down there called me up and we were chatting about the event... Now, i don't know the ins and outs of engines, but he sure did and although i was clueless when he asked if i'd seen the size of the wastegate in Roland's F40 LM, he still told me it was about 4 times bigger than any other wastegate he'd ever seen... Apparently it has something to do with the turbos, i'm not really sure... One thing is clear, though... The car (and its owner) are amazing...!
Jackie Jouret from Forza was my co driver to the track and back. On the way back, we had to catch up to the convoy and we had to put the pedal down...What a ride till we got pulled over at 140...without tickets..I love Louisiana..and Jackie, she kept filming while flying very low on I 10, What trooper !! Great shots, Roland
Yup it's definitly true. I am not the master photographer but on the way to the track while I was riding with Dale in the 550 we saw it several times. Sometimes when the car would get a good distance from us and disappear into the fog all you would see is a brief flash. The sound of the car is everything a Ferrari should be. After hearing so much about the LM and seeing so many pics I had trouble believing what I was seeing. Dale had to keep his car quite a good distance from Roland because the cars downforce was sucking up rocks and debris on the road and tossing it into the air behind it. Roland, I'm not the most mechanically inclined person so if I may ask what causes the car to do that? It's a pretty neat trick. It looked like it only happened when you shifted and I have seen other race cars do this but I always wondered what caused it. If you get a chance next year I'd love to go for a spin and I promise not to make a mess if I can help it. See you then. Matt
Matt, i think it actually has something to do with the wastegate, but then again, i'm the last guy anyone should listen to when it comes to car engines...
Hello Matt, The flames and sound comes from unburned fuel past the waste gate. BBQ would just fine back there if you can sustain the vortex from the extractor. Pipes are all open, music is included ! I have barf bags on board, so get ready matt for your ride next year. Roland
Roland, you're one bad-ass dude... One of the coolest pieces of my Ferrari memorabilia collection is your card... i have it right up on my shelf... Now here's a bad-ass picture of that MONSTER engine... LOL...! Is that something, or what...? i'm pretty sure this is the last of my pictures of Roland and his ultimate F40 LM... Thanks a lot, Roland...!
