I was in the DC area recently and stopped by Ferrari of Washington for a visit. Unfortunately, I caught them in the middle of replacing all of their flood and spot bulbs in the main showroom (the area to the left of the entrance) so all of their cars were packed into a tight space while I was there.

Regardless of their activities underway to replace light bulbs, the were VERY cordial and very friendly. (This was my first visit to FoW). I strolled around for a while looking at the selection for sale (355, 456, 360, 575M, 360 Challenge, F50, etc) and then.... I looked through the glass at the service bay. Wow. I spied my first Daytona in person. It turned out to be the Competion Daytona formerly driven by Paul Newman.

Additionally, some of the other treats in the service bay included a 333SP and several 360GT cars in the race prep area. Peter (the parts manager) escorted me through the service bay and told me about the cars but I don't remember all of the models present. Tam and Ralph in the showroom were very nice to chat with -- even with "Operation Light Bulb Swap" in full swing! I think it was Todd up on the scissor lift putting his high tech touches on those new light bulbs!

I took some pics I thought I'd share. Enjoy.

In the end, a very nice visit with the fine folks of FoW. As I said earlier, they were very cordial and I enjoyed chatting with them. Peter sure knows his stuff. He kept rattling off the models when we were back in the service bay. I couldn't keep them straight in my head.

The gents in the showroom were tied up with light bulb replacements but they were very nice to chat with. Especially when we were chatting Mondial Cabriolets!!! :)

Thanks Tad, Ralph, Peter, and the nice receptionist (I didn't get her name).

    Cheers.

Thats a 512bb/LM! Pretty rare stuff!

The silver one with the wheels off (and the red one being worked on) are both 330 GTCs

Ahhh... It must have a fair amount of mods on it to make it an LM. I'd recognize a 512bb I think.

I thought one of the cars in the bay was a 330 GTC but I couldn't remember which one.

    Thanks Jordan!

    Quite a car!

The 330 GTC is my favorite vintage Ferrari as well :)

    Jordan,

That's the car all right. Wow. I didn't know it would fetch that high of a price. The one from the link lists $195k.

Let's see.... how many Mondials would that buy......? :)

The 330 GTC is sharp. I love the F-cars with the wire wheels. I don't think I can say just Borranis as I believe various brands of wire wheels were used. My fav vintage F-car with wire wheels is the 375 Plus (cabrio). Sweeet.

FYI- I just sent you a PM.

    Kevin -

You're right about that. It was a fun time going. I spent about 2.5 hours there. I was in DC on my way to Kitty Hawk for the 100th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers first flight.
