On my way to London from LA tomorrow, I figured it has been 10 years since I spent a New Year in Trafalgar Square, so why not. I am flying on an American Airlines 777, If my time is up... So be it :) I will go down smiling :) I fly 100k+++ miles a year, and have logged over $2Million miles with American alone...

Jordon, I just placed an order for a new Robinson R44 Helicopter, I will get it in June, I still owe you a flight :)

PLEASE! Don't even try to compare the attack on Pearl Harbor, a military target, ordered by the legitimate government of a sovereign nation, carried out by that nation's military, to the cowardly terrorist attacks on innocent civilians working in office buildings and flying on commercial airliners. That's the most vile, disgusting thing I've read in months.

Beautiful photos. FWIW, though intellectually I accept the "flying is safer than driving" stats, emotionally I feel those stats don't apply to me, as I choose what I drive (big, safe vehicle), when I drive, where I drive, etc - and, of course, like everyone else on the road, I am the world's greatest driver. ;) Perhaps I have some sort of control "issues," no? I regularly drive from the Mid Atlantic to Denver, Miami, etc. I have looked into Cunard as a means of trans-Atlantic travel (can be done, but slow and expensive). Recently read about NY to Boston luxury bus service. Will no-fly alternative transport will stage a comeback? Will even Amtrak make money? No question the books on audiocassette/CD industry is profiting from my fear of flying. Could I buy my own train car?

well, I can really understand you guys....

I was on the NY twin towers ten day before they disappeared....so I really can feel something of what you feel, believe me.

But I'm not an extremist, I think that not every muslim is a terrorist. In Italy we have lots of muslims everywhere, and lots of problems, but really lots, because of them.

Because they refuses our culture and our law expecially sometimes.

But not all muslim are this way, just few....but those few are the more dangerous and "sponsorized" by tv, political parties, some magazines so that lots of people wants them out of Italy.

I don't really think so, that's because I know some muslims and they're wonderful people, and they have all my respect like any other good person from any other religion and country who behaves well.

I think that newspapers and government here uses some facts just to justify the war or petrol prices (that here is really gorgeous....I think 4 times what you pay....!), but maybe it isn't so.

so, take the plane and don't worry, anyway statistically it's always the safer way to travel, much safer than car, boat, train and so then....

...and you can't go to London by Ferrari, I think....so don't worry and don't think about it ;)

Four flight segments last week, two more this week, and two more the next. So eight flight segments in a three week period. i feel safe.

IF YOU DON'T FLY, THEY WIN.

Don't drive your car. There are drunks out there who kill MANY people EVERYDAY around the world.

    Think about it.

    Enjoy the Drive,

Get on the plane and relax. Nothing is going to happen. I take my young children on planes all the time. I worry more they will dart out in the street or get in a car accident. If you have applied for life insurance, you will notice they don't ask if you are a frequent flyer. That's because it is safe.
Almost anything is more dangerous than flying...like sleeping. More people die in their beds than planes. So get out of bed and into a plane...where it is safe.

About 15 years ago, a Texas man wrote into Compuserve's AvSig forum, because his wife was flying to London on a DC-10, and wanted something reassuring to tell her.

An airline pilot told him, "The DC-10 is a safe airplane: It goes up like a safe, ..." :p

Many years ago, a friend looked at a Mooney M20C light plane, and wondered aloud "how such a small propeller can hold up that plane". I looked to see if he was kidding. I told him that those big flat things on either side were something we call "wings", and that's what holds up the plane. The prop just overcomes drag. (And the Mooney Ranger doesn't have a lot of drag.)
