Nice! Have an Atwater-Kent 42 tubes radio. Had the first "loudspeaker-like" system. i say this as basically they ran varying current over a tentioned metal plate to make sound. A precursor to today's "modern" loudspeaker driver design.

Have had wire recorders and such, yet over the years have moved on to collect/restore other objects of desire... Italian cars anyone :)

    Enjoy the Drive,

    Steven R. Rochlin

PS: If you ever want to sell the MC30 let me know :)

Eric: first pic is of a Decca Ribbon tweeter. Was used in combination with double pairs of full-range electrostats and a big-assed woofer. Hasn't been made in years, but the "technology," consisting of a very thin strip of aluminum foil, fluxed by heavy magnets surrounding it, is still used in big Magneplanar speakers, and some others. (Is Apogee still around, the company that made the full range ribbon speaker?). The rest of the pics are assorted electronics from the 70's by Audio Research- the two chassis thing is a tube preamp that was the v-12 of its day. The funky pair of tube amps, called "Quad II's" were made even earlier by a small English company that originated the full range electrostat shortly after WW2. (I have a pair of those speakers in the basement awaiting restoration).
