After reading alot of posts with question about ownership, I noticed that alot of people are soon to be first time owners. I also have noticed that people will trade up from one model year to the next. For example from a 308 to a 348, or from a 355 to a 360, etc. Others have only one car and intend to keep it for good. I was wondering who has been a Ferrari owner for the longest amount of time? What year did you first buy a Ferrari? Do you still have it, or do you play the trade up game?

As for me I got my 348ts in 2001. It is the first Ferrari I have owned, and to date the only one I own. I don't plan on getting rid of it. But maybe some time in the future I will get another Ferrari. How about the rest of you guys? It will be interesting to see what the average time of ownership is.

2 years, 4 months, 25 days. Not that I'm counting! It's the only one I've ever owned, and I plan to keep it for long time. I want more Ferrari's, not a new Ferrari.

If the timing is right, funds is on, and the right car is there, why not for something better, newer year and fewer miles??

Because some Ferrari enthusiasts do not think newer is better.

    Willis, back to work!!!

I am staying home because of the snow.

The newer is off course better, more maintenance for older cars

If you put it that way, then you might be right. Although some may not agree that an older Ferrari require more maintenance than newer ones. Some people buy and keep the older models because they like them. There are a couple of Ferraris I'd like to have on a permanent basis you might consider old.

I bought my first and only Ferrari, a 1981 308 GTSi new that year. I have had the car now for 23 years. It is the longest and most rewarding relationship (next to my wife) I have had. I plan on taking this wonderful piece of rolling art with me into the next life!
