i met Benny for a hot 2 and a half seconds at WWoC; the yellow Enzo in question was there... along with his F40 & F50... He was getting in the F50 to leave; i said, "Hey, if you want, i'll follow you home in your Enzo..."

He smiled and said, "Go ahead... the keys are in it."

That memory still makes me smile.

Seems like a really cool guy. But when you have 2 Enzos and all those other exotics I guess you wouldn't care too much if one of them gets into and accident.

Ferrari should have a rule about their limited production Exotic cars. You should only be allowed to purchase 1 Enzo per customer.

Kenny Herman and I just spent New Year's at his house. (Benny is my uncle). I told him I wanted to race his 333SP with my 355. He said he would tie a rope to my 355 so I could keep up with him! You think these cars are hot, you should see his Pagani Zonda!

benedict, I've read quite a few reviews on the Zonda, and seen a bunch of pics (never saw one in person though...)
I think it's a better everyday driver but I wouldn't compare it to either the Enzo or the F's...
I have a copy of EVO where they try to take it over (i believe) 200 mph and it doesn't get there...
Plus, it's just not the actual speed of it, but the mistique, the lines...
Ferrari, for me, is, was and will ever be, the ULTIMATE supercar!

Just my 2 cents though... Tha Zonda is indeed a great car, just not MY kind of supercar!

i've been DYING to see one in person... i'm hoping they have one at the auto show this year... Have you driven the Zonda...? Ridden in it...? What's it like...?

Benny absolutely loves his Zonda- said it was an amazing driver- but like the Murcielago, theres no where to put anything, no glove compartment or storage space etc.. He said it was blindingly fast, but didn't feel as fast as the Enzo.

I doubt it'll be there this year, it wasn't last.. It's extremely expensive for these little companies to go to all of these trade shows- you'll have to wait for the summer to see Bennys Zonda on the track!

 

I would never ask to drive any, (wouldn't want to be a pest.) I still remember when I was a teenager though he took me for a ride in his white Countach. (Damn, if that wasn't a teenager's wet dream come true! )

Ben, a teenager going for a ride in a Countach, huh...? i just got a ride in a Countach (coincidentally, also white) QV5000 for the first time, about a month ago... It was awesome... They're so exotic...

 

Other than my childhood passion for everything automotive, I think it was Benny Caiola that got me started with my monomaniacal obsession with Ferraris.

When I was 13, he took me for my first ride in a Ferrari, his first, then brand new Testarossa, just after letting my brother and I drool over all the wonderful cars in his garage. I'll never forget it! It was that day that I relegated myself to the singleminded objective of owning Ferraris, and more specifically a TR.
