Everybody gets tired of their job, even if it pays well and does not involve a shovel. I like my job, it pays well, I declare when I go on vacation and if someone makes me mad, i can do something really painful to them... I have read the majority of people actually hate their job. Here's your chance to vent.
Becoming self employed is a one-way street. Once there, you can't go back. Don't ask me how I know. Dr "Whut's a real job?" Tax
Given that I still need to work, I love my job. I am not married to it, however, and when sufficiently underwritten will not look back. Cheers Kevin
I hate my job. It's boring. Most the people I work with are idiots and actually think they are doing something important/useful. I feel sorry for them! If I didn't have Fchat I'd probably fall asleep.
i dont work I have a hobby that pays. Its all a game to me. some months I lose, some months I win, but I never worry about money. I havent had a job in 14 years. if it ever stops I think I will become a ski instructor, and a white water rafting guide, because what do people work for. john
I come into the office everyday - not a work at home kinda guy - yet. I work on mainframe business computers - doing the I/O gens...which is a fancy term for defining the cpu and all its attached devices. I am responsible for the largest data center of a Fortune 100 company and do it remotely from the site. I have been in data processing for over 30 years, doing just about everything related to computer systems support (except application coding) and this is by far the most "fun" I have ever had. It pays well - certainly not stratospheric - but well above comfortable, but I would do it for alot less. .. I like it that much. And I am very good at it .
Attention! Wo*k allergy sufferers! The correct spelling is "w-o-i-k." Example: <Curly>It woiks!</Curly> Disclaimer: I don't know what it is about mdstrib's threads, but his are the only threads where I've quoted Curly. Edit: In fact, I think we should use "moiderize" instead of "murder." Not just here, but on the Nightly News.
I don't think there was enough variety in the choices - it went from super-contented to suicidal - but there were no "I don't like it, but it pays the bills" type choices on the poll. I think most people fall into subtler categories of fulfillment and enjoyment. Your Cialis pimpin not fulfilling, Strib?
I dont have a job except for my USMC duty. So I checked the What's a Job? button. That said, I loved running the culb business when I was there for the first three years, hated the last two. Md, we need to go have a beer some day!!! DrS
Stick your finger in 30 buttholes a day and then you tell me. Actually, it's a great job. I'm the boss, I make the hours (for the most part), some people are actually thankful when you remove their cancers. I think, like most jobs, 5% of the people cause 95% of the trouble.
I actually meant to put in a catagory: "I'd quit this job if it weren't for the money and/or sex." but in my haste to get to lunch club with the boys I forgot to list it. It was actually the punch line to the whole poll and I forgot it!
In my case 5% is two people. At least the big bosses are great people and are like "**** em" they're attention whores.
Sounds like you have a staffing problem. Or a lawyer problem. :-( It's a good thing you didn't get even more absent minded and post the option: "I'd quit this job if it weren't for the money and/or Sticking your finger in 30 buttholes a day." Ack. This might be an inappropriate question, but just for affirmation... most of the doctors in your profession are *straight,* right? I guess that would just be like a hetero male ob-gyn, but I don't think men would be as open to the idea for their own doc.
Honestly, does no one else on this board have to look at hairy rear ends for a living???? Am I the only one??? Maybe there ARE better jobs out there?!?
But you CHOSE your job!!!!!! You could have been a Plastic Surgon like my dad and been hip deep and tits and ass... (Hell I was hip deep because of what my dad did!!!!) But NOOOOOOOOO, you only want the dicks and ass!!! Now why is/was that??????
Leave the good doctor alone. A small percentage of medical professionals actually join the ranks to help people, not to have a good time, or make a bloody fortune (pun intended). I have a pediatrician and a GP in the family, and, let me tell you, the realities of the profession are changing (HMO administrators deciding how you should be treated and with what). It is admirable what these people do... ...And not everyone can specilaize in the glamorous parts of the body.... For those who like to empathise on occasion, or would like to see the medical world from the "kitchen side", read Samuel Shem's House of God. A truly funny, scary, racy, and enthralling book, all at once. You will know what actually goes through the mind of a medical intern....
