I am looking at demo Maserati Spyder. The car is a 2003 with 500 miles on it. Options include Cambiocorsa trans, skyhook suspension, xenons, cd changer, heated seats, piping, stitching.... The MSRP is 101K. What would be a good price to buy the car at?? The depreciation is crazy for these!!!

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Scott,

My recommendation is to look at autoweek magazine.

I can't say about your specific example but the ones in autoweek are amazingly priced...

Of course the conditions of the cars need to be taken into account..which I can't speak of.

Six thousand miles and the one I am seeing here has a msrp of 100,850 now available for 67,900 or b/o out in ohio..

$40K depreciation in a year -- I don't think this guy will be buying another new Maserati any time soon!

Of course, it's the old supply and demand story so why is the demand so low?

I've been watching these carefully, thinking about a purchase. I think low $70's is probably about right for this car. Pretty amazing depreciation in one year 30+%, on a car with no miles, but that's the market on these.

New ones, no miles, 2004 can be had in the 80's, so, I might look new for the difference. Of course with the 4 year warranty, either car is a pretty nice deal.

When Ferrari 1st told their dealers to prepare for the car, they promised pricing in the $60's. Ended up in the 90's, but the market seems to be setting the price to an extent.
