Can anyone tell me what exactly constitutes a belt service for a 99 or 2000 belt service? Do they pull the motor like a mid engine car?
What also does a belt service refresh and what does it all encompass?
Can anyone scan and post the page from the manual for a belt refresh?
How often to they recommend this?
What is the average cost of this?
    Thanks
    Gary

Gary, search under Doody's post for this. It might be on the old board, but he had the most extensive listing of this I have ever seen. Prices range from $5K to $7K. It is not an engine out chore, but there ain't nuthin cheap on Ferraris. Hell, have you seen have much the dealers are charging for genuine Maranello air for tires! :)

Yes $5-7 K is probably normal.
Engine stays in and seals get changed, filters too.

I would highly recommend the DEALER do the service, not to take anything away from the outside shops. But I have seen bad things with the 550 and 456 services(bent valves). The shop put it back together to find out that the #6 intake valves were bent after the service.

    Good Luck to you.
