In the last four years that i have lived in Las Vegas, i have discovered this town to be full of every exotic car you can think of. I have seen everything from a GT2 Porsche to an Enzo (the only one in Vegas, i believe). Anyways, i have never had an up-close encounter with these cars until today. As i was walking outside the Village Square movie theater, i turned to my left when crossing the street to check for oncoming cars. as soon as i look to my left i see a wheel from a yellow 360 Modena poking out from the rest of the normal cars. Not wanting to be stupid, i gathered myself together and calmly changed directions and walked towards the car. When i got there, there were a swarm of people around. I contemplated turning around and going back to my car, but i just couldn't do it. When i get there there is this middle-eastern looking man of about 21 (yes, 21!) explaining his car to the people who stopped to look. He noticed my keen interest and offered if i would like to overlook the car more thoroughly! Of course YEAAH! So i open the door, place myself inside the cockpit, immerse myself into the beautiful smell of the Italian leather, and grab ahold of the shifter. Ah what a feeeling!
After this, he opened the hood and let me peek about. The engine was stock except he had a brilliant Tubi exhaust. I know it doesn't sound very exciting to most of you, but for a 16 year old who got to sit in and experience a little bit of Ferrari, it made my year! it also makes me feel good to know that the owners of these cars (probably not ALL, though) are so genuine and nice in allowing these things to happen. I know when i buy my 360 Modena in ten or so years, i will be this way, and let others experience the passion of Ferrari to. Thanks for listening....

Doug..Get good grades, stay active in school sports, stay away from deadbeats, work at whatever job you can until you have goals for a work field, save your money and someday soon, you will be the guy telling others about your car.

Doug, keep the dream alive, but realize it may take more than 10 years. I had to wait 30 and then "settled" on a 328--but I'm certainly not complaining! Even an 18-year-old Ferrari is a beautiful car.

Hey man, I dont wanna brag, I truley am happy for your First Ferrari expierience, but wait until you RIDE in one!!! :D It will rock your world!!, Im only 15, but when I get my first F-car ( realistcly, hoping for a 360 Modena or a 575M due to the price drop and all that stuff) but i too will happily let people who I can tell have a passion for the car sit down, and at track days, I will be defienetly let them ride along because I know how awsome it feels and hope I can give that same feeling to someone else :)

Doug, here's a suggestion. If you haven't already done so, keep checking the "Arizona & Nevada" forum for news about events in your area where Ferraris will gather. Chances are someone will be willing to give a kid a ride.

I went to the Ferrari Challenge event here recently and gave an 18-year-old a ride. He and his teenage friend probably found out about the event on FerrariChat.

Doug, your just like me mate. The lust for something like a ferrari at this age is a deadly thing, but also the motivation one needs to make something of themselves in life. You just have to keep thinking that your day will come someday, wether its making it big in business or throwing away your retirement fund to fufill your dream. One day mate, one day.

Thanks, after high school I plan to go to a University and get a Masters degree. I am not exactly sure what my major is going to be yet, probably Sales & Marketing, because i am quite a negotiator! Whatever it is, doing something that makes you happy is the most important thing. Even if when I get older i cant afford a brand-new Ferrari, i think the 360 Modena will be at a respectable price and it will influence me to buy it even more because of my fond memories with the car. Wouldn't that be cool? Buy the same color combo car i fell in love with as a boy in ten-twenty years!
