My alternator died and now I need to have it rebuilt. I'm going to pull it and have it rebuilt. Any special instructions on what to tell the shop to do? Can any euro-type shop do this or does it take a special shop? Isn't the voltage regulator in the alternator on the 456?

    Thanks.

Yes you should make sure that the shop uses the right regulator. Any competent shop can get the job done. I'm not sure on the 456's, but on the 348's if they don't put in the right regulator the "alt" light will come on at high rpm's. So make sure that they don't use a cheap regulator.
