Anyone used one of these before : http://www.innovations.co.uk/gus/product.asp?brand=newinnovations&cat%5Fid=0&zone%5Fid=&prod%5Fid=500159&offer%5Fid=500159Y&link%5Fid=&extra=&mscs_sid=DXF81R2UMWBE8NKXJ5TTXLA02MS7EM41 I guess they don't work in a garage though. Looks good value for £25. Rick
Hi Rick I have a 348 GT Competizione and had trouble with the battery earlier in the year (it is located to the front of the near side wheel arch, hence wheel off to get at it), To cut a long story short i had to buy a new battery, but i still use the solar panel for top up when not in use. The panel i got required some cable modifications so it would sit above my garage door outside, and i ran it to a walll mount plate inside the garage so when i wind my car window down i can just grab it and stick it in the cigar lighter. I can confirm that it produces a fluctuating dc voltage of 9-16 Volts, during daylight , even in Manchester! Not so good at night though Cheers Anto
Great idea Anto - I might well have a go at doing that myself. Dave - it is sunny here for one or days a year honestly !!
just use the car and if f308man is with you the speed he goes you should put loads of charge in the battery trying to keep up with his stealth red ferrari and his camera shy number plates {are you doing stanford hall or changing baby poo nappies] ?????????????????????????????????????
Picture the scene. Lovely sunny morning. not got much going on. decide to take the beast for a spin. key in the ignition, and then . . . . . . jack all ! As the batt has died (again) Well, that used to be me, but then I installed a batt conditioner. Mine is a Porsche unit (boo hiss!) which I blagged. however, Carcoon do a nifty little number for 35 notes: http://www.carcoon.co.uk/charge.htm Remember to buy the one with ciggy lighter connection. I know it's not portable and slightly off point, but useful none the less Rob
Steve - yes I am hoping to be at Stamford Hall next Sunday (no sign of nappies yet !!). We need to organise a meeting place, I take it you're going (I know Simon is). Rick
