Finally after months and months of searching the new toy is here. This one is a thoroughbred. I can't believe she is finally here. Thanx to all of you on this site who gave me invaluable advise, recommendations and support in general. I was fortunate to find FCHAT early on in my search. You helped me sort out and understand things giving me knowledge and wisdom to choose just the right car in the plethora of junk for sale out there.
    I thank you all.

    Here are some pictures.

PS: I just wanted to add that my experience here at FCHAT was great with all the members, EXCEPT I did not appreciate some snide remarks from a couple of boneheads who would rather name this site F-ARCHIVE-RESEARCH, and not CHAT. If I only did archive research and not asked questions I never would have known what the up to the minute $ was for the car I was buying, or a brand new picture of the exact rims I was looking for, or the great transporter I used. So in the future I suggest instead of pointing people to Archives just because the questions are asked often, if you know, just answer them and do not belittle! This site is about help, camaraderie and share of the passion we all have for these beautiful cars!

Sorry to take it here but I needed to get this off my chest, and again THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all who helped me.

    ALEX.

sorry to hear you were inconvenienced into having to search the archives for planet earth's most thorough, detailed, and voluminous data on any modern ferrari. :)

    Hi DRSROCK,
Great car and environment. A friend of mine has a 355 it's a great car. Have a good time. Yeah! some of the remarks on the chat site are strange sometimes, but usually from people that do not own a Ferrari. I have always had good advice from the chatters however.
    Keep in the fast lane,
    Jim

    Great car, congrats.

At the risk of hi-jacking this thread, did anything ever come of the FAQ archive that was discussed in Silver Forum? That would solve problems like this.

If you searched the archives for "355" about a million threads would pop up. Unless it's a really focused topic (like, you are searching for Caprsto v. tubi or 6 speed v. f1), responses like "do a search" aren't helpful.

Nice choice. Now you have to get involved with some of our runs. I am located in East Brunswick, Lupe is in Perth Amboy, Vik is in NYC, Hubert is in NYC, and Emil is in NYC. We do runs just about every weekend. E Mail me sometime if you would like to go.

I'm moving to that neck of the woods soon (as soon as our house sells). Most likely to the northern part of NJ. Wife's whole family is up there in the Dumont/Westwood area....except for one rogue brother who is flying his A-10 over in the desert.

I'm sadly not currently an F-car owner, but I would love to learn from you guys so that it'll make it easier when I'm ready to buy one.

Congratulations on the 355 and nice lineup with the MB-cars.

What transporter did you use (or should I just search and figure it out myself?) :)

Gotta get mine from Miami to LA....

    Again, congrats.

    Cheers

Hardly an archive question and nobody would have suggested that you search for historical data on current pricing. BUT remember you are not the only person looking for a 355 ... last week somebody probably asked the same question and the same answer is relevant.

Did not realise that rims change over time :D

Searching is a good way to narrow down the search. Then you could post a question like:

It appears that x, y and z companies are good transport companies, has anybody used them recently and are they still good?

Now not an archive search ...

Totally agree, but the number of wasted posts about say, show me a picture of a red Ferrari X please ... or cambelts or F355 valve issues, etc.

Funny thing is I have never seen anybody suggest searching, unless the post was really silly ...

I have actually found the searching ability of this site to be pretty good ... but naturally if you search for 355 then you are a bone head ;)

Congrats on what looks like a nice 355 ... and as Rob does not seem to care how many posts are posted and consuming disk space on a server somewhere ... keep posting and asking any question at all, as like you have said there is a huge amount of knowledge here, and people happy to answer (usually ;)).

    Pete
ps: I think it really is the way some ask questions. If you simply state: "What is the current value of a 355?" ... people will not be so keen as it shows that you are too lazy to do any work. If instead you say, "heh I've been looking around and 355's seem to be worth X to Y, what do you guys think?" Others will jump in to discuss ... especially others still looking.

Absolutely gorgeous and great color!! Nice rear challenge grill. I haven't seen many on the 355's. Enjoy in good health!! Most of the bone head comments are not made from owners. You'll be able to recognize the owners from most of their posts.

I just went through your posts. Out of all your threads, you were asked to check the archives exactly twice, and they were not 'snide' requests. Congrats on the car, but if you're that thin-skinned and inconsiderate of others' time, perhaps you need to find another forum.

Sorry I do not check this site all the time and you may have already found one, but I used Jonathan Peck out of Lamborghini of Dallas 972-241-0808. He is good and I would reccomend him to anyone. I do not have his cell Phone # here @ the office, but if you call LoD you will find him.
