Have a look at the 'salvage' section... http://www.douglasvalley.co.uk http://www.douglasvalley.co.uk/salvage/salvage_details.asp?id=580 Might polish out...Any brave DIYers out there??? Robert.
I say its game set and match to whatever hit the 360, these are obscene pictures of a ferrari,it should not happen to my beauty's, id throw the money at a 348 instead, cheers Dale.
i hope the driver and passenger are still among us.. its a left hooker.. maybe continental salvage...anybody shed any light on this.. there should be a lot recoverable from whats left(the engine block looks alright) funny the airbags havent deployed maybe mr xxx or mr xxxx would be interested? chetan
Hi Chetan, as you said the engine and tran's would be fine,so they are worth a few £, as would a few other components, spare engine would be nice then in all our engine want's, take it to PAOLO MARTINELLI the man whos hand id real love to shake, and say,sir give me 12,000 rpm with wire springs and shim tappets, and i will pay the bill as soon as i rob fort knox, then put it in my imaginary 360, cheers Dale.
Dale dont know if the full tranny would be serviceable but the inside gears.synchros etc should be ok but looks unlikely u will get yr hands on such ...as our Mr xxx or Mr xxxx (or however the many phucking x's he got after his name) must be already installing it into his next 'project' so there goes yr chance of meeting paolo..sorry mate..no engine no paolo cheers chetan ps whats yr call on the airbags?..still trying to figure that one
Chetan good point you make there,as much as we can see in the pictures they dont seem to have deployed, with this damage id have thought they would have deployed, well if i were in the car and they didnt go off id want to know why, wouldnt have thought any 360's due for new air bags yet, usually the air bag light on the dash should give warning of a fault, beleve me the warning light comes on when they feel like it somtimes, cant see to much suspension damage even though im sure there is some there, cheers Dale.
Looks to me like the front and rear chassis bits are surprisingly unbent (the upper bodywork clearly took the brunt of it. The airbag ECU might have unbelievably thought it wasn't worth deploying in that particular impact... The scary thing is that the ad says it is an 04 car, 500 kms! Robert.
any info on the background of this car ? its a left hooker..maybe continental salvage? 500 miles..... looks like the driver didnt get a hang of it has anybody been upto douglas valley? chetan
I'll say one thing, the safety cell for the occupants looks intact. There's not intrusion into the cockpit of the steering wheel. or other items. So, hats off to Mr. Ferrari, build them fast, build them sexy, but, build them safe ! R PS, the wheels look ok too, few quid in those. . . . .
Yes, I have been up there a few times, it's spooky to see 911's stacked up on top of each other or rooms full of exotic car parts. Bit's everywhere ! It's located on what looks like an old factory site, there's all sorts there. Interesting place !
Chetan M1 then M6 would be about 4-4.5 hours minimum well worth the trip though (it about 45mins for me)
andrew not in a f car mate..haha ......just kidding will go up the next time i am in the area ...maybe we ahve a driveout there ... rgds chetan
Been there too, as Andrew says it's quite an 'interesting' place to see all of those cars piled up. It takes them a bit of time to get a car down so give them plenty of warning if you're going down - although I imagine they'll have the 360 inside somewhere. They've got the "Looney" 355 car there - not much of it left though. Only 30 mins for me - 45 mins from Chester is good going !! Rick
I was in a bit of a hurry to get the part I needed and didnt want to A. P155 about and B. didnt want to spend £700+vat at Stratstones!!!
