Yes - I've opened the door of that car, touched the interior, etc. It's a very nice car in great condidtion & recently had 30k worth of engine work done. Very NICE car.

There is one guy asking that ridiculous price & something like 300k for a Boxer. The market price for these cars is right around 275k-300k.

That is the trans axle. It is the same in an F40 except the F40 has body work under it.

I think 355's look the same way if you take a low picture - But yes, it is the same on all 288's.

I love the 288 GTO, that and the F40 along with all the GTOs made are my favs. They are pure performance cars, no creature comforts...I love that. That's what a true Ferrari should be. As for that 700K+ pricetag, thats rediculous in today's market, although I wouldn't be surprised if the 288 reached those numbers in the future. Anyone else have a similar opinion?

in spite of it's rarity, especially compared to the f40, i'd guess it will always be the "cheapest" of the supercar bunch simply because it's too understated compared to the others. i love the 288. i'd buy one (among other f cars) if i could, but the f40 by comparison is jut nuts looking. i just saw another one in the flesh today at pocono. it's a freakish sight. the 288 is more elegant. in general, most buyers will be willing to the pay premiums for f40, 50, 60, etc. even though more were made of each of them that the 272 (?) 288's.

as for 700k,... who knows? in 10 yrs maybe? i lost my crystal ball around april of 2000.

Black was not on the list of colors available. Neither was yellow. The yellow example shown is a prototype. Red cloth interior seats was an available option though. The red cloth changes from light to dark on the seat; it is not a solid color shade.

Red was the only production color. I did see a black 288 conversion being worked on at Norwoods though, I believe it was a Carmack car putting out some obscene hp (I can't remember, either 900 or 1300 crank hp). They were trying to sell it off.
