This 550 Barchetta allegedly has only 8 miles on the odometer:

Wouldn't delivery miles be more than that? I've always heard that new Ferraris come with around 50 miles on the odometer.

I assume that this is a Euro car which was converted, hence only 8 miles on the US speedometer, although the ad doesn't say that. It does claim that the records will verify that the odometer reading is correct.

Is it possible that a 550 Barchetta could be delivered with only 8 actual miles?

You are correct regarding the 50 delivery miles minimum.

Yeah, 60-70 miles is more like it. If the test driver doesn't like something, he makes a punch list, the problems get fixed and another test drive ensues.

If your new Ferrari arrives with 200 miles on it, it's probably going to be a lemon, because it had to be sent back twice for fixes!

The selling dealer, Jim Lyons of the Sports Car Company, is supposed to be very reputable, at least according to things I've read on this board.

FYI, my '95 456 had 155 miles when the pre-delivery inspection was done by Shelton.

Interesting. Especially since it's sitting in Heritage Classics of West Hollywood showroom, not in San Diego. First saw it @8 weeks ago, most recent viewing was 3 nights ago.

Think Heritage Classics ought to be dropped a line?

The Heritage site clearly says it's a European car. I imagine the conversion documentation has to state what the pre-conversion mileage was.

fwiw, I think it's pretty common for the same car to be offered by multiple brokers.
